Please limit discussion in this thread to upcoming Boardroom(s) to the SEA N Terminals. www.flyertalk.com/forum/alaska-airlines-mileage-plan/1602028-sea-n-gate-saga.html pertains to the actual utility of the N terminal itself.

Indian casinos aren't subject to Washington Law:

Heard about this entering the SEA BR today. Will go in the old UA club in the N basement. Apparently when UA moved out they gutted the place- taking even the light fixtures so will tale about 3 months to reinstall items so its usable- and work has started. Thanks for listening AS ^
The timeline I'm getting is at least 4 months, but it definitely IS in the works at this point.

Buuuut, they aren't closing the current one are they?
Why would they want to duplicate the United Club décor?

and NO, they are not closing the current lounge.

Personally, I think it was because I had started calling it the "AS SRO Room at SEA" that caused them to listen

I predict that AS is not going to turn their terminal and the Port of Seattle's property into an Indian casino. We'll see how my prediction comes out.

That could have been part of the T&C of the lease. If they left and/or removed things that they shouldn't have, they'd be liable to the POS. (I have not idea "what becomes a fixture" under Washington law )

The slot machines alone would help keep the landing fees down.

Good news, although I think the ideal time for this to have opened would have been prior to the summer rush.

The doors were open Saturday afternoon. Didn't look like there was any work going on in my quick peel behind the desk. It looks really "retro" with everything else gone. What looked to be "evacuation" schedules were still posted on the walls.
Given the usual state of affairs upstairs, I'll gladly spend an hour or two in the dungeon.

I am beginning to dislike N gates because of that too. It will be good to have a decent place to sit and work prior to boarding. I wish the food choices out there were better. I tend to leave home early enough to avoid getting stuck in a traffic mess, which means eating at the airport often

My responses:

1. Yay!

2. Competition is an amazing motivator.

Someone at AS: I will happily volunteer to empty the ash trays.

I'd like to layout why there should be a cigar lounge on the roof of the N terminal:

1) Everyone knows that only RAVs (Russians, Asians/Arabs and Villains) smoke (I'm not Russian, Asian or Arab, so I must be a Villain).
2) AS has agreements with Asian and Arab carriers who fly to Seattle.
3) They will win all of the C & F connecting traffic if they offer a nicely appointed Cigar lounge on the roof of the N terminal.
4) I will promise to stop complaining about the Quinoa and eat my whole grains if they have a cigar lounge.
5) In Salt Lake City, you can enjoy a cigar and a drink at multiple places in the Airport. How can Seattle, home to the hipster, live with itself if there's nowhere to enjoy a can of PBR and a cigar at the airport?

(and please don't call me a racist over the RAVs joke, m'kay?)

Seattle high lounge?

I don't think it would be restricted to Cigars

Another issue is IIRC AS employees are to be nonsmokers *at least for new applicants. So how would they work around smoke?

Haven't been to the SEA BR in awhile but have heard about the overcrowding problem here. Well, I am sitting here by the window and it's like a library....very quiet and lots of empty seats...the new N concourse BR hasn't opened yet, correct?
