This is good to know, I have two more AS flights this year, while I've been lucky enough to not have to endure a waitlist, if this piece of paper is in fact the pecking order? I'll be booking away from AS until they get their lounge operation up to OW par. Currently I fall under numbers 3 and 5. As of April 2026, I'll just be number 5. As much as I like to add AS to my mix of West Coast flying, their inability to move fast and make the commitment to grow into a OW carrier is going to cost them my money. (First World problem I know, but I place a high value on lounge access).

Thanks, as a PDX based flyer that values lounge access as well, I'm now trying to figure out what my strategy should be for 2026. Would Lounge+ access trigger similar waitlists/priority in other OW/AA lounges? I do get how they would want to prioritize their "top tier" credit card holders, but obviously in PDX they are not quite ready for them. I myself would have preferred a higher fee card with real club membership. The Atmos program in general is problematic (and they seem to be making things up as they go!), but it is really the only game in town for direct flights.

I am qualified via
3 OW Elite via AA EXP
4 Summit Visa holder
5 Admirals Club member via AA Exec MC
If I fly on a domestic AS flight (so 3 doesn’t matter), will they tell me how long the wait is for 4 vs. 5? If it was a negligible difference, I would, of course, not want to burn a Summit day pass, but if it was a much longer wait for AC members, I might use the pass.
Also, do I understand the algorithm right that if I have been waiting for an hour as an AC members already and then a bunch of summit day pass holders show up, they get put ahead of me on the wait list?

I'm PDX based and I've had both the AC membership (via the credit card) and now currently a Lounge + membership--by far the better choice if you begin and end every trip at PDX. I don't have to ever worry about being added to a waitlist and I've not experienced any issues with a lack of priority at other lounges like ACs so this works for me.

Yesterday (11-2) there wasn't any signs up about a wait list. Walked up and scanned my boarding pass and was asked if I was on the wait list. Confused I asked what wait list which I was then told "oh you are lounge+ nevermind" and let in. Lounge wasn't even that full, tons of open seating in the patio.

It looks amazing and I'm looking forward to it but based on the crowding I've seen not just in the current Alaska Lounge but the terminal itself, I'm not so sure the waitlisting protocol will entirely go away--although it will surely help. I obviously travel through PDX frequently and I will say that I see no obvious signs of construction progress on this new lounge so my guess is that we are at least a year away from opening which would technically still meet the 2026 target year.
