In the foreseeable future a reservation of mine has a flight on AlaskaSkyWest. I could SDC to AlaskaHorizon leaving an hour later. Looking through a microscope would you happen to have a preference? I have read that some minor differences may exist, such as Horizon's E175s having ovens for First Class meals, while SkyWest's may not, and SkyWest having a coat closet. SFO-LAX doesn't offer meals though, and my idle curiosity may be entertained by people in Main trying to locate the front bathroom.

They all have ovens now regardless of the operator. I will say that you're more likely to get a PDB and/or an in-flight beverage on "no service" flights like PDX-SEA or PDX-MFR on Skywest operated flights--still not sure why.

I agree that I see PDBs more frequently on SkyWest than Horizon. Beyond that, I generally don't experience much difference between the two.

If one were in the mood to be cynical about AS's IT, one could argue that the systems used to do W&B calculations for AS/QX might be more likely to fail than OO's systems.

I'd expect it is because some of the FAs don't always remember just what uniform they're wearing at any particular moment! Or might just prefer not to be bored.

I was up front on SJC-SAN a few days ago on OO and frankly was not impressed with the inflight service at all. In fact I went back and looked at old photos and reminisced about how much better it used to be, though I don't remember if those older experiences were on OO or QX just that they were on the 175.

What were the issues?
- no PDBs
- snack basket came out super late
- no follow-up by the FA
- when i asked for a second round, FA didn't get the hint that maybe she should offer it to others in the cabin
- weird shenanigans with the front lav which was not unlocked at cruising altitude resulting in the guy behind me being told to use the coach lav as if someone was in there when in fact it was empty.

If you can see 1D in your photos! OO aircraft have a narrower storage space between the galley and row 1, so there are two windows at 1D. On QX aircraft there is only one window.

I don't want to spread misinformation as my knowledge is a few years out of date, but used to be OO was not Cat III rated, while QX absolutely is. That can make quite a difference when the weather isn't so nice...

This was exactly what I was going to post.

Was interesting going to FAT; but kinda blew some connections heading to LAS. [My ANC-LAX-SFO-LAS made a stop in FAT as wx was marginal and OO did not have the same tech as AS (or QX). So we made a stop at a new airport for me.

This was like 2-3 years ago, I imagine OO is still the same however.

well wellthat might explain why my flight diverted to LAX due to a supposedly low ceiling and all flights being divertedeven though I saw no such thing affecting SAN after we landed. Cost me a secured upgrade too.
