I'm now have repeated issues of being on the upgrade list, and on the day of the flight, I disappear from the list completely without getting upgraded, even though seats are available. When I tell Alaska staff that I disappeared from the list, they claim they can't get me back on the list.
I'm also having issues of being dead last on the list despite everyone else on the list being a lower status than I am, according to the gate agents. The gate agents told me to contact customer care since this is happening repeatedly. When I called customer care, I was told that they are "too busy to talk to me", and to send an online message instead. I sent a message, and when I finally heard back customer care 2 weeks later, and they told me to discuss this issue with the gate agents.....in other words, Alaska blew me off completely and won't do anything about this. This is totally unacceptable. Is anyone else noticing this issue? |
Friend without status flew FAI-ANC today. Around T-2 flight went to U2. $35 for an upgrade, he did not bite.

Yes. Went from #2 for 2 while in transit to Sea the other day, to nowhere to be found on the waitlist by the time we arrived in Sea. GA claimed she had no idea how that happened and couldn’t get me back on. Magically, once in the air again, I reappeared at #1 on the waitlist. Need to remember to screen shot that list - would have been interesting to see if anybody originally below me cleared. (The paid upgrade was only $90 so chances are good someone grabbed it anyway, but it is really annoying when it messes up and no explanation is forthcoming).

Upgrade Processor
It appears AS IT has addressed all of the "glitches" it intends to resolve; at this point, I would consider remaining issues to be features rather than bugs to maximize revenue. Worth changing the title of the thread? |

I highly doubt randomly dropping people from the upgrade list a few hours before departure has been fixed yet....

They really need to fix these upgrade issues as they are alienating their best customers.

Have a flight coming up in which spouse (100K via my MM and 100K status ) and kid on a single confirmation and currently 1 and 2 on the upgrade list. I’m #3 on the upgrade list. There are currently 2 seats available being offered for $500! Upgrade for a 3.5 hour flight. We will see how this proceeds.

Last week the same flight started at 500 upgrade price then went down to 250 24 hours before then Down to $119.61 at gate for the last 2 seats. |
It was once uncommon that by T-20, the meal ordering cutoff, not a single open seat in First would be given complimentarily. And here we are on a flight I'm looking at with 7/16 wide open, and the waitlist hasn't moved an inch since T-72. Good things come to those who wait I tell myself.

Yeah, I'm flying FAI-ANC tomorrow and none of the flights I've been on have yielded an upgrade (I've made a few changes thus far). Even as of last week, nay, yesterday, upgrades would be released down to F=2 around T-24. Not sure if its the processor taking a nap, or just drinking one too many mai tais. :D Or if AS changed the code yet again.

Something is wonky lately...On my PDX-HNL there were still 4 seats available in F but J=0 up to T-1 so you couldn't even buy those last 4 seats.

This morning when one gate agent started up the boarding process, I walked up to the other and stated there were two available seats in F. She appeared flustered and moved past her unawareness to see if I as #1 on the waittlist could get one of them, and I did. Oddly enough #1 and 2 had earlier both gotten a checkmark on the waitlist for their Premium seats.
