My first post and first successful One Up bid – thanks all for the advice on this forum
No of Pax: 1 (1 Adult)
15th July: NZ2 (AKL-LHR) B77W
Class: Premium Economy -> Business
Status: NZ Gold
Bid: 510 airpoints for AKL-LAX, 540 airpoints for LAX-LHR since not as many seats available on this leg. Indicators were at upper end of weak and my bid was probably a bit higher than needed but I have plenty of airpoints and wanted to ensure I got the OneUp.
Outcome: Accepted, 5 days prior
Based on a dummy booking, BP cabin was about 70%-80% full at 5 days prior and was full on each leg during actual flight.
Airpoints for my premium economy booking at flight+10 days haven’t come through and failed as an unrecognised booking when I tried to add missing airpoints on myairnz. Looks like I need to call the airpoints contact centre. Anyone else had this problem as part of a OneUp?

Hi lisakyle. Welcome to FT - that's a good reason for a first post.
I have never done a OneUp bid, but have on a few occasions not had points credit, either automatically or through the manual system. Just ring the prem team and they do it instantly.

Prior to placing the bid I read most of the posts in this thread, a big THANK YOU to everybody who posted here !
No of Pax: 1 ( Adult)
Flight: NZ5 (LAX to AKL)
Class: PE ---> BP (original Fare Class:A)
Status: Star Alliance Gold
Bid: USD 550
Rated: Lower end of Average
Outcome: Accepted -- 6 Days Prior
I did the bidding for my husband.
His ticket was for SFO-LAX-AKL-MEL-AKL-SFO on Air New Zealand,
PE on segments LAX-AKL and AKL-SFO,
Economy on AKL-MEL and MEL-AKL,
paid Exit Row on MEL-AKL ($10) and Preferred Seat ($50) on AKL-SFO.
I called the Calling Center prior to placing the bid and was told that he was already upgraded on the AKL-MEL segment to PE based on his Gold Star Allliance status and the route of his Air New Zealand ticket.
This makes me think that the ratio of bidding seat value to the price paid for the whole ticket might be factored in the algorithm, along with the FF status.

Note that the Trans tasman PE seats are sold as economy and a *G is quite likely to be allocated one.
Still seat/Seat+bag/Works/Economy/*Delux service though.
