AMS-LIN return on business will give 30 XP per the earning table: https://www.flyingblue.nl/en/programme#xp
Earlier in this thread was AMS-FCO-ATH which gives 60 XP for 374€ on 20% sale.

I can't find anything reasonably priced out of Switzerland at the time I need. I am seeing MUC-MAD coming out at about €317 once the discount is applied, but I have to factor in the cost of getting there. Presumably this offer does not apply to itineraries starting in Italy, which is where I will be (just saying, because last summer I got a great deal from MIL to MLA for €239 round trip in Business, which yielded 42XPs).

Unfortunately nothing from Stuttgart, which is marginally close for me, but maybe looking at dates between the 4th and 13th of January is a bad choice, given that it is probably the end of school holidays.

Actually, I am drawing pretty much a blank for everything concerning European flights. CGN gives no destinations beyond LIN. So I guess the BRY-VLC fare is the only real deal here.

Another data point: it clearly states, when I tried to make an Economy booking from 07 to 11 January, that the code cannot be used between 18.12.19 and 12.01.20. This was in connection with a booking from GVA to CAG, but I can't imagine it being unique to the Swiss site. Fare in Economy even without the discount is pretty reasonable, IMO (€184 RT).

I get the "cannot be used between 18.12.19 and 12.01.19" error messages even though my travel dates aren't in those periods. Does anybody have an idea why ?

Well, my suspicion is, having had the same issue, that you have got a flight or two in the itinerary that is operated by something else. I thing it has to be oiperated by Alitalia pure, although Alitalia Cityliner probably counts. When I looked at what I was doing, it was clear that one of the flights was operated by AirEuropa and that rendered it ineligible.

Unfortunately no, I just tried with the aforementioned BRU-VLC run, at eligible dates, but the website returns that same error message

Tried different browsers? Different IP addresses?
Anyone else with issues?
Just about to push through a booking myself. Will let you know how it goes..

It seemed to go ok on the AMS-FCO-ATH route. You can't do it for 2 passengers, you have to a separate booking for each passenger for the discount to work. Each ticket cost EUR374.47.

Not sure if this is forum-rules compliant, but reposting here in case people subscribed to this thread didn't see the original thread in /premiumfaredeals (if it's not, will promptly delete ) :

For those based around CDG chasing miles on Flying blue, Alitalia has got a sale on its business fares on direct flights. Bookings until November 16th for flights until january 31st.

Just Booked CDG-FCO-BCN-FCO-CDG for 396 € for 60 XP. I could have added a BCN-FCO-BCN for a total of 90XP for 595 €, but didn't feel like hopping around airports all weekend.

I know there are slightly better options in Europe, but frankly, none that I found starting from CDG at this price.

Like jfkeze rightly said in the OT, these fares can only be found by buying the tickets segment by segment. (for the route I booked, trying a Multicity with the same route, or searching for CDG-BCN would return a 850€ fare).

Not that this would be really mileage run but need to depart shortly for PRG-AMS-YVR and was wondering if there are any coupons like AZ has got from selected countries?

Current promotion on AF discount pass

Hello,
for the record, there is currently a promotion on the AF discount passes (-30%) - This means the "combined discount pass" is at 404 euros until Dec 4th.
For that price, you will get 40 XP +5000 miles (as soon as you enroll)..
Other advantages are listed herebelow, but won't be, most likely, of any interest, except may be the 2 extra XP for each french domestic flight (granted even if you are not using the Discount pass fare)
https://www.airfrance.fr/FR/en/local/avotreservice/entreprises/carte_abonnement_metro_airfrance.htm

Outside of the AMEX cards (up to 60 XP/yr) and of the current Accor hotels promotion (5+5 XP), that's one of the rare (and reasonable) alternative if one doesn't have time for a mileage run.

When you select the Combined Discount Pass, open the accordion with With your Discount Pass, earn more Flying Blue Miles!:
  • 5,000 Miles + 40 XP (7) as soon as you sign up for the Discount Pass.
  • 10,000 Miles + 40 XP (7) when you renew your Discount Pass.
  • 2 XP (7) extra on each flight within metropolitan France on flights marketed by Air France and KLM (with or without the Discount Pass fare).
