Unfortunately having money, or high rank at the office, does not bring class. Being humble is learned from the environment where one grew up, and does not really seem to be something that can be picked up at a later age. So people like this can be found at any place or walk of life.
There are few things that I get bothered by more than arrogance. For example people that start talking on handsfree in an otherwise quiet lounge. Or when at an outstation it happens every now and then that people think that nobody will understand what they are saying...I can't count the times that I've heard Dutch people (often business pax) talk in Dutch at the ATH lounge being derogative or even racist to the country or people there. Including about lounge staff (Who by the way are lovely girls always going out of their way to help pax with whatever).

That's a terrible behavior!!
I saw once on the AF Lounge at the 2E Hall L at 10 am an american lady filling up a cooler with champagne....She poured 6 glasses....How classy isn't?
And I do agree with the fact that money doesn't give you well manners, education and/or class...
There is a lot of people out there without any sense of education and this is increasing more and more these days.

Taking alcohol out in an open container would be illegal in some jurisdictions. It could also cause the lounge to lose its license to provide alcohol.
ADDED: It's sad to see champagne go to waste when it goes flat after being stolen, or maybe worse, consumed by someone who doesn't know or cannot tell the difference.

Almost exactly 6 years later, I have just witnessed something similar in the 2E-L lounge. A gent (unknown nationality) filled up what looked a 1l water bottle with champagne, tipping bottle after bottle and putting the empties back in the ice afterwards. After this, he grabbed a handful of crisp packets and strolled back to his seat. He was still there when we left 45 minutes later, so I can imagine that the wine would be rather flat and warm by the time he boarded his flight. Unless he drank it all before he left...

I saw that type of behavior twice in the 2G lounge (last time was recent). I usually ask the person if he is satisfied with his free shopping, leading to a face blush and the person leaving the lounge within minutes.

Saw this recently in Seoul in the Korean Air Lounge, where a guy was stuffing his bags with cookies in plastic bags. It was pretty annoying as he was going to the counter every 5-10 minutes to refill, but I didn't say anything on the spot as I wanted to mind my own business and I had work to do...

I especially love it when they step away from their own travelling party, so that other, unrelated passengers in a different part of the lounge get the pleasure of having this very-important-person gracing them with their presence, pacing around in those other, unrelated passengers' part of the lounge, disturbing those other, unrelated passengers' peace in the process. When they step away from their own travelling party so as not to disturb their companions, this of course gives them license to speak even more loudly than is necessary.
Add bonus marks for having their correspondent on speaker, too.

A few years back was in an express train travelling for work with colleagues and a lady just in front started a marketing presentation for her client on zoom, sharing with the entire carriage.
My like-minded friend and I looked at each other with a wink and we were this close to start a super loud mega inappropriate converasation in the background.
But because our boss was sitting just behind we just ended up talking loudly about music or something.
She never paused and finished the damn whole power point.

Some lounges do it right and they have small separate cubicles to take calls in, like the SK lounge in ARN. Others... don't.Still at the very least, if it can't be avoided, the caller really should try to find a quiet corner, even if it perhaps means walking out of the actual lounge, and never, ever take calls on speakerphone.

Slight hijacking of the thread for bad behavior while traveling, but outside of a lounge.... I am in the aisle seat, obnoxious guy in the window seat with his wife in the seat behind him. He places a call to his attorney (during which the flight attendant tells him to shut down his phone, which of course he ignores). He proceeds to tell his attorney all about an idea he has that he thinks will solve all of his financial problems and, after explaining the idea in some detail, asks his attorney at what point in the development process he should patent it. His wife is hissing at him to stop talking about it in public. He looks around, sees I am the only person near him, and then announces to his wife that there's no need to worry because nobody (ie me) will be able to understand it. He then tells her not to worry because since he was discussing it with his attorney, it's "privileged". What a bozo. So I took notes on it.
He went on to leave all of his garbage on the seat between us: open soda can rolling around, chips, candy, etc, and kept getting up and kneeling on his seat, shoes and socks off, to berate his wife and accuse her of being the reason they had no money. A really unpleasant person.
