If I am not mistaken, dinner starts at 19:30. At least at the 2F lounge.

Good point, I should have clarified that. I had asked 3 kitchen staff who couldn’t speak English and I couldn’t understand French.

After posting, I did finally go ask the reception AF agent. Hall M lounge closed at 5pm so they weren’t serving anything else. I commented to her that there should at least be some cheese and other small snacks and she agreed. She said all the lounges have switched to a new Cater ring company this month and so far it’s been very poorly executed.

so I ended up going and getting a small baguette but then I realized there was no butter. I can I have a thing for French butter anyway so I asked the attendant by pointing at the butter sign where the butter should’ve been and she just looked at me and shrugged her shoulders and said ”fini”. Yes, absolutely a first world entitled problem, but I think an AF lounge should have at least some bread and butter till close. I went and very nicely told the AF agent that they needed to find butter and cheese and she agreed and then marched quite strongly over to the kitchen and ended up having a very public argument with the kitchen manager. There was lots of hand waving and pointing. At one point another passenger joined in and the AF agent and the passenger guy were both yelling at the food manager. I so wish I knew what I was saying but since I don’t understand French I have no clue. I felt a little guilty that I had started the whole thing. They finished the argument with no solution, the AF agent did the whole French thing where she shrugged her shoulders and rolled her eyes at the lady.

She then came over to me and apologized profusely for the bad salon service. She didn’t ask, but told me I was filing a complaint. We went over to her desk and typed a bunch and took my info. She said because she sent the complaint I would get $compensation. She then gave me a voucher worth 20,000 FB miles. (Which is worthless to me considering I’m a DL Diamond). Anyhoo. I don’t really need any compensation anyway. AF just needs to fix their catering. Pre-COVID it was pretty decent in CDG.

Catering has been hit-and-miss in CDG lounges for the past few weeks.
Haven't seen the croque-monsieurs/flamenküche that filled the gaps nicely for ages.
Instead, you find the morning bacon until 11:29; then you are left with lunch leftovers until 6pm.

Half-empty stands, that were a common sight in the old 2F lounges, are back. Hopefully this doesn't become the new norm, but I can assure you you visited AF CDG lounges at a bad time. It wasn't like that this winter.

Next time try Air France La Première. I can guarantee that you will have no problem getting a proper meal at any time of the day or night in the La Première Lounge. :D

There won't be dinner at M lounge as it is closing at 17:00 or 17:30 after the last flight boarding.

I agree that the lounge is the pits and not a place where you would want to spend a prolonged period even if you could but I can't think of a decent place within MRS airport in which to while away the time. In the past, the former Pullman would probably have been the nicest place to have a drink or a spot of food to while away the time in the immediate vicinity of the airport building but I have no idea of what it is like since it became the MIA hotel.

learning something here : the airport Pullman is not anymore a Pullman/Accor ?

I totally agree that some food options like cheese, cold cuts, desserts should be in place until the lounge closes.
I understand from your post that a new catering company is in place now ? Because if yes, this is worrisome. We could have understood this from the former knowing that they lost the contract renewal and have no motivation, but if this is the new one… :(

For Terminal 1 in SIN, the Dnata SkyView lounge mentioned here no longer exists (I think it closed for at least 3 years ago). It has been replaced by the Dnata lounge and is on the 3rd floor (as are most lounges in Terminal 1), and this lounge has recently been renamed to the Marhaba Lounge. Could someone update the wiki as I don't have enough posts to do that?

For the lounge itself, it's a pretty standard affair also accessible with Priority Pass. The food and beverage offering is on a downwards slope in therms of quality and things on display, which also reflects the general state of maintenance of the lounge (e.g. one of the beverage fridges lacked a door, and the restrooms and showers could need some TLC). For instance, the restrooms are in a better shape outside than inside the lounge.

My two cents: go there to get a shower and something to drink, and then leave the lounge and walk around the terminal before your (in most cases) long flight. :)

Not a direct AF destination but carries AF code so here I go.

JED - King Abdulaziz International Airport Jeddah - Al Fursan Lounge (International)

Name of the lounge: Al Fursan Lounge

Lounge was rather poorly designed, huge L shaped lounge with toilets located on one side requiring a long walk everytime. Many amenities but many were unavailable or broken or under maintenance. Wifi was absolutely useless.

Location: Terminal 1 (International) on a mezzanine accessible from main atrium.

Opening Hours: 24/7

Entry requirements: Usual skyteam requirements. There is a First section of the lounge that is only accessible when flying F on Saudia.

Food offer: Basic hot food buffet with rotating cooking station for pizzas, omelettes, pasta, etc. Meal offering between meal times becomes rather poor with only 2-3 options but really picks up during meal periods.
I believe the First class area has à la carte dining.

Drinks offer: No alcohol. Juices, soft drinks and arabic coffee throughout the lounge.

Services
Wifi: Yes but very poor. Only managed to send one email and couldn’t use youtube.

Showers: 2 showers within male restrooms, didn’t have any towels when I was there.

Toilets: Yes

Quiet zone: Yes

Loungers/sleep area: Yes

Business area: Yes

Spa: No

TV area: No

Passengers are called: No

Information screen: In some areas

Newspapers: Not sure

Other information
Number of seats: Around 450

Level of noise: Can get quite noisy when busy (it gets busy at times)

Design: Pictures attached

View: None

Multi floors: No

Terrace: No

Smoking area: Yes

Direct boarding: No

Other: Gendered praying area, lockers and recreation room (Pool tables, playstation…)

That is very subjective. I was there and I liked the design. I cannot say the AF 2F lounge has any better design. Been to both. Foodwise Al Fursan can have one or two option which are good, but others no. Al Fursan however, has the superiority in sweets on offer. Best cakes I had in a while, especially in a lounge. Also dates as much as you can eat. It is a good lounge. Just I did not understand, why they call it the biggest SkyTeam lounge in the world by surface. I didn’t find it so much bigger than others like AF 2F lounge.

Wifi is definitely garbage, but I was convinced that this is more because is Saudi Arabia

I mean’t more in the sense of the location of toilets due to the shape of the lounge, the lounge in itself looks nice. Otherwise I don’t have any special problems with it. I cannot judge the sweets as the one I had was way too sweet for my blood sugar, that being said the live coffee bar war great and I loved the arabic coffee and dates.
I suspect it is because there is a massive First class section that we don’t see as is customary in the region.

Way better than just wandering around the terminal for sure.
