So we can all get a handle on how they are going to work in the real world, how much they will cost, et c.

Post flight, date, route, original fare basis (T, T+, Lat, etc), and if known, seat inventory (i.e. J9, C7, Z5, I3). If you do upgrade, please also let us know how many empty J seats there were in the cabin, if any. And if you were considering a certificate upgrade, why or why you didn't opt for the LMU.

It would be helpful if this thread could be limited to "just the facts" and no discussion, which could be posted elsewhere. That should make this thread more useful for everyone.

Should anyone want to discuss LMU's further please post in this thread:

Lowest I've ever been offered was $889, but it's usually well north of $1000

Given that the price differential between executive lowest and flex on a booking I just looked up (with connection in YVR) is $984 going (and I'm flying direct), this should be my maximum but I'll hope for much less...*sigh* The differential on a direct flight was way higher.

Wow, that's HORRIBLE. I remember it being <$800 a couple of years ago. Mind you, maybe J6 has something to do with it...

27 June YVR LHR offered $1418 to upgrade to J from a W class fare. Declined.

My ticket is actually AKL YVR LHR LIS hence the W class segment: full point accrual but I can't use my e-upgrade points. T-4 hours and there's 2 open seats in J class. Suspect I won't be getting an op-up

Why can´t you use your e-upgrade credits? If it´s not on AC ticket stock, but booked under an AC flight number, it´s definitely upgradable at T-x days. If it´s a codeshare flight (e.g. NZ operated by AC) you can request the upgrade at the airport.

Maybe status? I know as an E35K, I cannot upgrade TATL other than M class.

$99 YYZ-YUL from Tango fare @ t-24h (into a pod, no less... not terrible if you want the experience)

$898 YUL-YVR from Flex fare @ T-20h

Both declined.

Question LMU without being Aeroplan member

Is it possible to pay for a LMU at airport if you are not an AC Aeroplan member?
Flying SIN-HKG-YVR next week on an AC ticket booked by a US travel agent.
Ideally I would like to upgrade the HKG-YVR portion - but not sure how to do that as the SIN - HKG flight is operated by SQ.
Any ideas most welcome.

Thanks
Richard

p.s. 1st time posting, so apologies if this is wrong thread - not sure what would be best thread - happy to repost if pointed in right direction.

YVR-YYC 1st July V fare

$308 DECLINED.

The back was fine, I had a free coke! No bag of chips with one or perhaps two drinks is worth that much!

Yes, you can pay for a LMU without being an AC member. Best bet is to check with the AC counter after getting to HKG, as they aren't going to be able to do much for you at SIN.

Decided what the hey? Have never done the pod thing and it's the lowest I have seen posted for awhile. Accepted.

Welcome to FT. That actually sounds like a great rate compared to other posts above. Nice getaway for you and Mr Woolbaby. Have a nice trip.
