Consensus on the Embraer?

I like the plane but based on my experiences, try to avoid them anytime there is cold weather. Flights cancelled and problems with start up on several flights this winter.

I have had two E90 J experiences, I would rate the same as an XM'd Airbus in J, ^
My first Y E90 (T+ Western Pass) experience is looming, I'm looking forward to experiencing what others have raved about.

Another vote in favour. Had quite a few flights over the past two years and no trouble so far - all E75s though. Flying an E90 to SEA next week so hopefully my lucky streak will continue...used to trans-cons in A320s so it will be interesting for me.

+1 for the Embraer. I fly down to LAX and SFO every weekend to visit my family and the E90 is at the top of my list. I avoid all Airbus flights between YVR and SFO/LAX whenever possible. They're very roomy and comfortable and have yet to be disappointed. I like how there are single seats up in exec class. And in Y - 2 seats only! Never 3! I love that.
Downside - Like others said: No hot meal.

I dont think these have ever been tested at YFB like the airbus and boeing aircraft?

I have only flown on the E190 once in J, personally I thought the 319 was better in J. However in Y, it looked quite comfy, and 2x2 seating makes it all that much better. Especially considering the seats are just as wide as the J seats on the 767.

In terms of cabin comfort though - both in Y and J - I would give them a big ^.

I really enjoy the Embraers, both in Y and J. Roomy interiors, 2x2 seating, and I like the large windows.
As for how other airlines have configured their aircraft, I have also flown UAX Embraers and enjoy their planes as well (even though there is no AVOD).

I flew the E90 on YVR-IAH and SFO-YYC last year in Y. The seats are very comfortable even in Y, on-demand IFE is available in every seat - I definitely prefer this plane over the Airbus models.

In Y, they are the hands-down winner, and far superior to the Airbus A319/20/21s (XMed or not), just on the 2 by 2 seating.
In J, though, I really try to avoid them. Not only is the lack of an oven a big big downside (and given the length of flights they now do, they make for an inconsistent J product on many routes), but they also have far less space in the overhead bins.

From a working point of view - love em!! Maximum seat comfort, large windows, no middle seat, and reliability of the Thales System has improved significantly on the EMB fleet - rarely a reset anymore.
On the 190 - given the fact that there are 20 extra customers, an extra lavatory would have been nice, as would ovens in J/C for hot meals. Although in my opinion, the cold meals are often superior to the hot offerings.
Usually choose EMB flights for extra flying/overtime - good on the blood pressure

Are the maps supposed to work now? (Today, there was a map. Just a map of the earth, that's it.)
Also, I could not help noticing odd signage: "seat belts extention." Spelled with a t and funny plurals as if there were one single extension for many belts.
Also in French, the "while" in "keep your seat belt fastened while seated" translated into "pendant que vous etes assis" which is odd. Ah, the quest for literal translation...
Also noticed some of the plastic pieces on side walls starting to get loose.
BTW, the three times I have been with my wife on a 190, we invariably ended up is the two bulkhead seats. Which are OK, except the window is a bit too far back.

The seats are fairly roomy as well, leading to a more roomy feeling compared to the Airbuses. The single seats up front in executive are nice as well, no need to share elbow space with anyone else!
As for the lack of hot meals in the front, I usually end up on the E175/190 only on the morning flights, so the fruit plate or smoked salmon is just fine.
