Exit rows will be 21/22.
20 and 21 will have no recline

For the last few months YXE-YYZ has had 3 daily Rouge flights on the truly dreadful A319's, I would take a Rouged 737 any day over them.

Presumably you are still in J? If so, there really isn't that much difference. It's the people who were in economy that just got a downgrade.

Yes, still in J but I do find the old 319s to be the worst members of the fleet. A new Max, even in upcoming RV configuration, would be better in my mind.

Personally I find the comfort of the flight (noise, cabin pressure, feeling of the takeoff and descent, etc.) really poor on these 319s. I'd take a newer aircraft any day (except Lynx).

We all have our preferences. But I'm not sure if all of your points stand. We all agree on the 319 interior being awful. I understand the noise question to a certain extent. The LEAP1B is definitely quieter than the CFM-56-5 on the A319. However, there is, IMHO, more aerodynamic noise penetrating the cabin in the 737. But still, the 7M8 feels quieter than a CFM powered 319 to me as well. But the other feelings? The cabin pressure is the same. Feeling on the takeoff? Well, yes. If a 738/7M8 would use the same rotation angle as the 319, it would drag its tail halfway down the runway. So indeed, the TO feels smoother. That said, I lake the 319 "sporty" takeoffs. And climbs, as the 319 has a lot of wing for the 64t MTOW. As for landings, the 738-7M8 are known for higher landing speeds. So the braking on ground is harder. The A319 landing feels definitely smoother.
I guess there is one more important point working for the 7M8. I'd expect a 7 year old 737 (and these are the oldest examples) to be way more reliable than a 23+ years old 319. So perhaps less IROPS caused by the aircraft?

I should have articulated better. I meant how I feel while the cabin pressure changes. Placebo? Perhaps. Or perhaps related to the ascent/descent profiles.

To each their own . Weirdly I don't feel this way about similar takeoffs in smaller aircraft. Humans are weird, eh.

Landings aren't really notable to me, but the descent is (typically into YYZ). For all I know, it's down to individual landings, pilots, or something else entirely (placebo )

Absolutely.

C-GMLS Fin 541, AC's 41st 737MAX (excl. ex-Lynx) was delivered on 23rd.
I wonder if it has a different cabin products compared to the original 40 MAX-8 ordered much earlier. It's still unclear if it will ever enter mainline service?

Ugh. I've been buying J to avoid flying in Y on Rouge since AC started to run Rouge aircraft on YQR-YYZ. This winter they have switched to the A220 but now it looks like they are operating ex-Lynx all Y aircraft twice a day in the spring so no option to avoid Y.

I am sure it has been noted somewhere, but if someone knows how many ex-Lynx all Y aircraft are still in the fleet I'd appreciate it if you posted.

I believe all seven are still operating. There was a rumour that they were going to be phased out by the spring, then the winds changed directions and AC has apparently decided to keep them around. Not sure if they'll be getting the Rouge update if they keep them?

Thanks. Ugh. It was bad enough last year with WS and the danger of being downgraded to a high density all Y aircraft, so adding AC into the mix is depressing.

Those ex-Lynx birds really are the least comfortable planes AC has.

Unfortunately they're sticking around for the long haul.
