I'm hoping (perhaps naively) for something reasonably substantial linked to SQX. As Craig Landry repeatedly tells us in every email, "as always, thank you for your Loyalty," I would hope they give us something to be loyal to.

What about promo codes for new bookings to drum up some more interest among travelers who might now be on the fence about booking AC?

In 1998, I believe the promotion was 3x SQM in todays terms, there was no SQD back then (or YQ but thats another conversation). I made a J trip to FRA during that promotion and earned SE for the first time.

The airline is bleeding money, and the new collective agreement is going to be more expensive than budgeted. As such, I do not anticipate AC offering anything that leaves money on the table, i.e. no fare discounts. Maybe some more miles, or maybe tossing a bone like more upgrades, but for a limited time only creating the illusion of a benefit grant, that they know will be difficult to redeem. Most likely bonus miles on routes Besides, does anyone want to be near the FAs after an acrimonius labour dispute? Some of them were already unbearable.
Those requirements don't seem to screen out surliness or an inability to operate a galley oven without destroying an entree.
That would be an ideal outcome for the airline, since the goal is to reduce the marginal elite qualifiers. I believe that It is unlikely a significant number of people will shift because they do not make E75 or SE status. They are still Gold status. AC knew that when it made its program changes. The focus group and customer sampling has the Gold status/E50 as the redline for FF clients. People will still be booking to Santa Banana for holidays come November and all the airline needs to do is to stay competitive with the other carriers.
The airline can do one of its infamous seat sales that promise reduced prices, but doesn't deliver much in savings. Canadian consumers are easily fooled. If there is a rush to buy, they follow in a panic. Its like the great run on toilet paper during Covid.
I mean I have no idea what they would consider for a promo, if anything. I just try to come up with logical speculation.
The issue is more that if you were going to finish the year at 101k SQM and 20,500 SQD, and you lost a trip worth 5k SQM + 2k SQD because of the strike.
It wouldn't be about giving you anything for next year, it would be to ensure that they don't piss off loyal customers (by dropping their status down) because of an internal contract dispute.

Why do Canadians think there will be a promotion post strike?
Given the love affair of "WE SUPPORT AC WORKERS" - let's bring those significant price increases please. I'm not joking or being facetious. I welcome it just as Canadians welcomed the carbon tax until it bankrupted them.

The important question; if there is a promo, when do we think they will announce it? How long to hold off on new bookings. I assume that right now they probably don't need more people on their website, but new bookings are also good.

Perhaps they will double the number of cashews in our nut bowls, or hand out two packages of Twigs?

The last thing they'd want to do as a "promotion" is encourage you to book more flights and then have another strike shut down the airline.
Okay, maybe it's not impossible to say. It will be after the FAs agree to a new contract.

If there is SQD multiplier I will switch all my remaining travel this year back to AC.
Otherwise I will continue on as a free agent. Changes in Aeroplan program is too much to swallow without very good promo offered.
