The airline is bleeding money, and the new collective agreement is going to be more expensive than budgeted. As such, I do not anticipate AC offering anything that leaves money on the table, i.e. no fare discounts. Maybe some more miles, or maybe tossing a bone like more upgrades, but for a limited time only creating the illusion of a benefit grant, that they know will be difficult to redeem. Most likely bonus miles on routes Besides, does anyone want to be near the FAs after an acrimonius labour dispute? Some of them were already unbearable.

Those requirements don't seem to screen out surliness or an inability to operate a galley oven without destroying an entree.

The issue is more that if you were going to finish the year at 101k SQM and 20,500 SQD, and you lost a trip worth 5k SQM + 2k SQD because of the strike.
It wouldn't be about giving you anything for next year, it would be to ensure that they don't piss off loyal customers (by dropping their status down) because of an internal contract dispute.
That would be an ideal outcome for the airline, since the goal is to reduce the marginal elite qualifiers. I believe that It is unlikely a significant number of people will shift because they do not make E75 or SE status. They are still Gold status. AC knew that when it made its program changes. The focus group and customer sampling has the Gold status/E50 as the redline for FF clients. People will still be booking to Santa Banana for holidays come November and all the airline needs to do is to stay competitive with the other carriers.

The airline can do one of its infamous seat sales that promise reduced prices, but doesn't deliver much in savings. Canadian consumers are easily fooled. If there is a rush to buy, they follow in a panic. Its like the great run on toilet paper during Covid.
