Important Event Notes - FAQ
  • It’s in November. That’s not really fall, is it?
Yes, technically it’s still fall until December 21.
  • Will the YYC Fall Do offer superior dining and beverage service?
Yes. The restaurant has a very long whisky list and the best burgers in town. You can savour a sit-down meal from the à la carte menu crafted for the Do.
  • What if I like hockey puck beef?
Then you're a weirdo, but I guess you can ask them to do it.

Important Event Notes (real ones this time!)
  • The burger and Scotch theme is purely optional. Those are the specialties of the restaurant, but you're free to have a salad and a Coke Zero, fish and white wine or whatever floats your boat.
  • We will have access to a few of the restaurant's recent Whisky Wednesday tasting menus which offer a flight of 3-4 whiskies at a reduced price. For past Do attendees, this is the same as previous years

Sorry I'll miss it!!! The last one I attended (March 2019 I believe) was a great event!

Thanks, this would totally be the kind of thing I would be interested in.

But "Please note our Banff & Canmore service is finished for the season. Service will resume Spring 2023."

Yes, that would be a problem. Here are two more ways to bus to Banff: 1) Rider Express (Greyhound style), and 2) Brewster Airporter

I think I'm going to let this go. It got too complicated to try to tag it on the end of my trip and I'm looking forward to being in my own bed this weekend instead after a few weeks on the road. It would have been convenient for reaching 50k -- I'll be 9k short without it which is a bit of an awkward distance to hit.

Looks like it will be negative temperatures and snow... I guess more scotch consumption needed to offset?

It's still 4 days away, lots of time for the forecast to change

Eureka! Looking at the YYC forecast for today, I think I've just figured out why Adam Smith thinks that November is still Fall.

He actually meant "Snowfall", but in YYC the first part is redundant so they don't say it. Mystery solved!

Stay warm Adam.

Fence-sitters, can we knock a few of you off, in one direction or the other?

It's warming up here, -4C today, 0C tomorrow and Saturday, although supposed to start snowing again on Saturday and get down to -11C on Sunday, so typical fall weather.

I guess I'm out. Was hoping the beuatiful weather we were having would hold. I just bought a new car (retirement present to me ) and the winter tires aren't on it yet. Just summer performance tires (not good for snow or ice). I was looking forward to this.

Even with a basic jack, that can't take more than an hour, right?
