Important Event Notes - FAQ
  • It’s in November. That’s not really fall, is it?
Yes, technically it’s still fall until December 21.
  • Will the YYC Fall Do offer superior dining and beverage service?
Yes. The restaurant has a very long whisky list and the best burgers in town. You can savour a sit-down meal from the à la carte menu crafted for the Do.
  • What if I like hockey puck beef?
Then you're a weirdo, but I guess you can ask them to do it.

Important Event Notes (real ones this time!)
  • The burger and Scotch theme is purely optional. Those are the specialties of the restaurant, but you're free to have a salad and a Coke Zero, fish and white wine or whatever floats your boat.
  • We will have access to a few of the restaurant's recent Whisky Wednesday tasting menus which offer a flight of 3-4 whiskies at a reduced price. For past Do attendees, this is the same as previous years

I don’t mind admitting that I will have to do some serious sweet talking to Mrs WTME coupled with a lavish gift or two (like my absence isn’t gift enough.)

But this is probably a great thing to spend $1100 on which I still have to do.

In fact I just checked and it’s $1088 return in full J. That’s literally $6 short of what I need. I’ll have to get a little more creative.

Point is, I’m gonna beg.

Well Here I am enjoying the hot sun and surf in DOHA and I was thinking that a good dose of cold reality would do me good so I am committing to November 5th. I just booked my flight, crashing at my kids place downtown Calgary, I am good to go!

Ok I'm booked to fly HAN-NRT-YVR-YYC on NH/AC, all on the 5th. Into YVR on NH136 and onto YYC on AC210. I might be tired.

Madness!

I'm on AC208 so will leave a few broken flatbreads in the MLL for you.

Good to express interest here though.

I should be OK for this. If I can survive a trip to Indonesia at a conference with 600 people, I think Scotch and Burgers should be OK.
I'm a maybe. I've heard good things about the restaurant

Buchanan's got firmed up tonight, so venue is secured. 6PM start. Wiki to come tomorrow. Apologies for the delay on that.

Would have loved to pop down for this, but somehow thanks to the winter schedule it's an 8-hour journey with connections so not happening for me this time.

OK, I'm now confirmed ... I'll be there

Eh? F1 isn't running in LAS until 2023 though.

You clearly know people. We ought to be better friends.

Now I'm missing TWO preferable activities for work.
