If you have general questions about how to earn SQM/SQS/SQD, please see the status qualification thread.

If you have received an incorrect amount of SQx/points, please see the thread on missing/incorrect flight activity.

Calculator for SQM, SQD, and Aeroplan points
SQM/SQD Cowculator and its source code

canadiancow's TODO list:
  • SAS Go Light fares
  • Basic economy on any airline other than AC (is it just need a fare basis that ends in GT?)
  • Ineligible codeshares, like EY-marketed, EY-operated, AC-ticketed

Adam Smith's TODO list:
  • Add earning for VA
  • Check earning rates for AC basic economy

Any official explanation from AC as to why they're using a different source for mileage calculations? Would be nice if they at least would show points and SQM when you book like UA.

What kind of official explanation are you looking for? They've said nothing about it, and I wouldn't expect them to.

As for "different source", distances vary based on the coordinates used for the airport, potentially how many decimals that's rounded to, and which formula is used to calculate the distance (there's not just one).

Using the example of YYC-IAH, the distances from various sources are:
  • Aeroplan (old): 1746
  • UA: 1747
  • GCMap: 1748
  • WebFlyer: 1750

Exactly what AC has changed in their calculations with the new program, who knows.

Would be nice if they at least would show points and SQM when you book like UA.
Sure, but they've never offered that, so I wouldn't hold my breath.

If you or anyone else has any other new mileage data, feel free to post it and we'll incorporate it in the database.

LHR-SFO is 5347. We didn't have a number in the old program.

Anyone notice that UA earnings changed on July 1?

It's now 100/75/50/25 for Y classes, rather than the old 100/50 (which is still implemented in the calculator).

I hadn't. Strange, as I could have sworn I checked all of them a couple months ago when I was adding some of those new ones, and I caught a few weird little changes.

I was surprised last month when a UA flight credited at 25%. Also R which is PE has changed to 100% from 125.
