Where: On your computing device. Anything with a Zoom client. https://zoom.us/download - You probably want "Zoom Client for Meetings" or "Zoom Mobile Apps".

When: Saturday February 17 2024 @ 1700 PST / 2000 EST / 2130 NST - We will likely go quite late, typically ending after 0100 PST.

The link will be the same every week. We don't need a list, many people will be here. Just add your name if you want the link PM'd to you around 1630 PST before the do.

Suggestion: Please include your forum handle (and optionally your name) when logging onto Zoom.

Please send me the same link as last week:

I was actually just about to suggest literally that date/time haha. But yes, that seems to work well for everyone. I'll update the title etc.

Except PDT, not PST.

If we use Zoom does everyone need to provide their email address so the invitation can be sent to them?

I'm going to make sure we have the technical details figured out long before Saturday, but to answer your question directly: I don't know. I don't think so, but I don't know.

Same as within this forum: nominate a moderator.

Whomever has the Zoom account will generate a single invite link for the meeting. Something like https://something.zoom.com/gobbledygook

So, that link could be posted here (easy, although maybe asking for trouble) or sent by PM (tedious? but maybe more sane). But I do think that you will have to surrender your email to Zoom so they can spam / up-sell you.

We have a premium link already, due to a generous FTer donating one. (S)he can out themself if they choose to.

But yes, the link should be sufficient. I'm just not that familiar with Zoom.

Sure.

But only if you don't join the call with the intent of eating the pickles and then leaving.

Just opening the link will work. If you don't have it installed, it will prompt you to do so. The other way is to open the app and type out the meeting ID. The end of the link is the 9 digit meeting ID.
