Another data point for TD Buddy Pass
I was told today that the 8-week period to post the Buddy Pass starts 90 days after account opening.
In my case, my account was opened on November 12th and the spending requirement was met shortly thereafter. Therefore, the pass will be posted on my dashboard sometime in April.

Amex Aeroplan Card - benefit of $599 fee?
I've had an American Express Platinum card for 30 years. In 1987, I got the original Aeroplan Amex ....
Today, we've been charged $599 for the latter card .... I understand this is part of the whole new Aeroplan thing. Since I have not been travelling, I have not been following all the ways in which they have 'enhanced' (LOL) the program.
So my questions are:
- what possible benefit might keep this card and paying that fee get me?
- I'm SE to the end of the year
- I anticipate little to zero travel this year
- I fully expect I will never return to previous travel patterns
- I'm E50K for life
So why would I want to keep this card and pay the fee? Anyone?
BTW, Amex refused to give me any leeway; they offerred $100 back in a few months, and a $150 goodwill credit. LOL
The funny thing is,. just dealing with this silliness today has reminded me how awful Air Canada/Amex truly is. I really don't miss this stuff.

I was told categorically that I would not be charged by Amex until July 2022 for this card. Were you getting the card for free before as well? I think they have little leeway now because they likely have paid Aeroplan and need the money or have to pay Aeroplan each year for the members.

depending on your account balances and other factors you may be able to get the card fees waived, or drastically reduced.
Worth looking into.
CIBC has been amazing with me on that front. I have the infinite Privilege and don't pay the annual fee.

Why not switch to a bank branded Visa Infinite Privilege?
