Of course it has. This is the badge that states "This Badge will be awarded on August 27th, 2018", so why wouldn't they give them out now?

No. We each booked a separate SFO-YYZ-SFO in P class, but everything else was on the same PNR.

Nothing related to flights taken will change anything.

I'm currently of the opinion that we shouldn't break the cattle tie. I'm willing to gamble 90k miles to see how AC responds

I admit some curiousity as well, but officially I would suggest that one of them should ask for an "unsuccessful" upgrade badge to be removed.
