Apparently YWG flights are the ones to take if you want to play VDB roulette.

Even though I'd jump at the $900, the new minimum for a 9+ hour delay is $2400. :eek:

Technically that's IDB. There's no reason AC can't negotiate with pax for a VDB.

That there were 2-3 other people who also received cash compensation - that is all I know.

I decided to eat and drink in the lounge for a while, then I have to get an AC gate agent to let me in to the path to international arrivals.

I was at the gate on arrival meeting some people, and a young woman went up to the counter saying she had given up her seat and been rebooked on 8840, but wasn't given a receipt or anything. The GA was a bit busy but was trying to help her. I pulled up this thread and showed her the receipt image from the wiki and we talked for a bit.

No, but maybe that same woman got the seat I gave up. She was connecting to my destination through SFO to meet a big group of girlfriends for a fun weekend.

As a quick follow-uo to my situation, I have already received and email from customer relations confirming they will send my draft and I should allow time for postal delivery. So, seems like they have the system in order.

Yes, she had an onward BP to PHX I believe.

That's funny that they moved her onto another overbooked flight, rather than just putting her on AA or something. I assume there's a non-stop.

Wasn’t her then. I was destined for another place in Cali. Regardless, seems like the missing 737s might have a wide ranging impact.

Were five VDBs accepted though? Were you one of them?

Unfortunately did not see how many they accepted. That being said, of the people who approached the counter, some of them did not make it on the flight.
