Hopefully it will. It does have a QR code on it.

This is a big improvement. Whether that is a comment on the earlier apps or the latest version is still not fully clear in my head.

But I will give credit. I like the new app a lot.

I also agree this is a big improvement. Certainly a step in right direction.

According to the app, AC859 will travel faster than the speed of sound, today.

You and I have been to some very different partner lounges.

TG in HKG, for example, required a photocopy of my card. MAYBE they would have accepted a photocopy of my phone, but I have doubts.

True dat.

I have severe doubts on almost every interaction with this airline. Not saying all employees are bad, far from it.

What I am saying is there are a whole lot of weak links in a very long chain.

Really? I'll admit I haven't flown them, but I've only had positive interactions with Thai staff.

The smiling lady was a poor design choice. I can only imagine a frustrated traveller dealing with IRROPS, getting the runaround from AC, only to log in to the app and see her smiling mug laughing at your misfortunes.

A few months ago I was out at lunch with my mom, and I was checking my flight.

"Who's that girl you have a picture of on your phone?"

I suggest that is Thainess in action, nothing more.

The people are fine. In fact if AC wanted an immediate upgrade, poaching, hiring, kidnapping or simply stealing Thai staff would be a great start.

TiT seems to be a good descriptive analysis. If you accept the Thai way to do things you're fine. Someone once called it "ish-time". The food will come in 20ish minutes, the plane will leave at 3pm-ish, the lounge will be open until 9ish.

I've needed this app to do precisely 1 thing since installing it a couple of days ago: change a seat. No go. Got an error about how the seat was unavailable. Tried a coupe of times before using Mobile Safari to make the change on ac.com.

Not terribly impressed so far. We'll see how it goes when it's time to check in next week.

I just flew home from HKG. In the TG lounge they didn't need my card at all. My boarding pass was just fine. I have tag on my carry in luggage as well if needed. Yet it never is needed.
