The old website is in the process of being "retired"
Leaving the below here for now for the sake of posterity and reference.
Accessing the "old" website.

At the moment (09-Sep-2016) accessing the old and functional website is still possible.

The procedure to access the old website requires a few steps.

1. Clear all aircanada.com related cookies and browser cache.
2. Go to this URL. https://www.aircanada.com/en/go-beta.html
3. Click on book travel Button at the top left of the screen.

Alternatively for some clicking on one the following links will work for some as well.

https://www.aircanada.com/aco/flights.do or;
https://www.aircanada.com/en/home.ht...ialSignon=true

"A digital transformation underway at Air Canada is reshaping the customer experience in almost every way"
Most of the old website URLs now redirect to the new "beta" website.

Not sure any school issues C# or C++++ grades...

Edit: Just noticed the website look/feel just changed... at least the initial page looks slightly less chunky to me now.

Maybe AC is looking for the students that scored an F, thinking that it means they know Fortran

By every metric it is clear that essentially everyone involved in this "rollout" is in far over their head.

Another odd feature

Tried using new "beta" site today from Nepal. It kicked me out of the site and gave a message to contact AC reservations as bookings can not be made online from the country I am in (Nepal), fair enough except it kicks you out of the whole site not just booking. I was trying to check an existing reservation, finally got in with a VPN connection. Old site no such problems.

Workaround: Don't be in Nepal. Air Canada doesn't fly there.

When you say old site no such problem, why the VPN then?

Still think it's faster to fly where it works... the Internet is mysterious this way

AC must have had a really low budget for the new website. The photo of the family on the beach. Is the identical family that is shown on the IHG website. You would think they could have gotten their own family!
