As some of you know, I really enjoyed the pre-boarding offers.
I've had concierges walk me to my seats on TB flights (U.S. departures only) and International flights (more so international departures and only once ex-Canada)
I was also told by the concierges on many of these flights, that I was the only SE onboard. I am not important, but they were amusing anecdotes.
It costs AC nothing, but it is a really nice touch. ^

AC 7552 YYZ-YOW, she called 1 and 2 at the same time, but there was a separate zone 1 lane with only two people in it, and we both boarded first.
However, that's basically telling me I have to be standing in line at the podium if I want to board first. If I'm sitting down, there won't be enough time to even stand up before the 2s are boarding.

Flew YYZ-YYC today. Large line up in the single zone 1-2 line. They called for zone 1 first and the zone 2s did step aside and formed a secondary line. I stepped into the primary line at the end of zone 1 folks ( all of whom were J). I was the only SE in Y. But I had my 3 seats on the A321 all to myself.

Boarding for 459 YOW-YYZ had a separate zone 1 line and it worked great.

I find YOW to be ok in general for Zone boarding SOP.
I'm glad that dynamic ratchety-haggard-miserable gate duo aren't there anymore... or at least I haven't seen them in years.
In the days long ago, they would never call preboarding correctly... they would only announce business class but no *G/SE/E/etc. to board. They did this every single damn time and seemingly on purpose. They were the only ones at YOW that did this. I lived in YOW for about half a year for a project there and saw them week after week pulling off the same shenanigans. This was when the old MLL was in the old terminal section and you had to walk a long-bum ways to get there!

AC 739 YYZ-SFO seemed okay. They were boarding when I showed up, but THEN they announced zone 1.
I also just realized my laptop bag fits above my roller in the bin, so I'm really optimizing for space.

Okay so every flight I've boarded today has been "Thank you Mr. Cow" after they scan my BP.
Is this due to zone 1, SE, J, or something else?

I definitely think it's being SE. I see regular J pax in front of me who don't get that, but when it's my turn, I get the acknowledgement, even if the GA is grumpy. I think it also helps that the blaring/glaring Million Miler note flashes before their eyes when they scan my BP.
