Has anyone tried this before?

“Vegan dish of red quinoa l, crispy chickpeas, roasted cumin cauliflower, kale, tahini sauce”?

Not a huge fan of the Hawksworth chicken duo or the green curry salmon so giving this a shot. Fingers crossed!

Answered my own question. I enjoyed it. Probably not for everyone, but I'm happy that Air Canada is switching things up:

@capedreamer

Awwww, thanks!

Great shots. Love the light coming through the glass and the rondelle.

You know, upthread, I posted photos from TPACs last year, maybe 2017, where the fish was served with the red or dark quinoa for a while. Excellent dish. Roasted cauliflower is great. Chick peas are pretty versatile. Back in early 2015, I had this outstanding dish on AC 3 to NRT with halibut and a ratatouille with eggplant and chick peas and it was one of the best meals ever on AC. (Washed down with the insanely awesome carrot cake...... of ancient history. )

But I see prawns on your appetizer plate. They follow me everywhere on AC... when the duck isn't following me.

Indeed! I don’t know which rulebook AC is following that says appetizers *must* contain seafood. Frankly most of them are pretty mediocre, and this dish in particular is one of my least favourite.

The prawns taste like they came from those grocery store frozen cocktail shrimp rings, the sauce is like a very cheap mayo, and the weird little red bulbs of mystery taste like something very synthetic and processed.

Looking at the photos posted in this thread, AC has the prawn phase, then the duck phase, then prawns again. Lobster bits showed up for a while. Other posters have asked why there can't be a vegetarian appetizer option, as in 2 options, like on NZ for eg. Of course, AC had the mushroom fetish a few years back, followed by cream sauces.

I thought those little red bits were tomatoes of some sort, but crew told me they were peppers. Still, I'll pick out the mango bits and apple bits from the other appetizer and throw them on the salad.

And I found the halibut, chick peas and eggplant from June 2015.

Awesome meal, cakeporn for dessert.

It seems that all apps are either prawns or pork as well.

We had neither, but mackerel on „potato salad“ (which were tasteless thin slices of potatoes, not really potato salad in my book).

Ac 15 yyz - hkg

The J menu has changed on October 1st, with some good wines, especially the Spanish Sauvignon Blanc and Italian Bardolino.
The other improvement is the new video system, more user friendly, with dynamic resolution for choosing movies or music. There is also a few photo snapshots of the destination one is traveling to. I remember seeing this on JAL a few years ago and thought it was an excellent idea.

The Laurent Perrier, perfectly chilled as it should be.

Scrumptious fondant chocolate cake

Any recent reports from the YYZ-CDG and CDG-YYZ route? I assume eastbound is a quick service because of the shorter flight? We should have an hour or so in the Signature Lounge, so I assume we can do dinner there and maybe just skip the onboard service or take it as an "executive meal" onboard with everything served together?

Thanks to your comment I went through a few pages observing how knives and forks are placed in each photo.
