Hopefully your assumption is true and TD improves the offer by adding FYF and double the bonus points.

If the current rumors are true, with only 15k points td will be forced to offer fyf at some point as a promo in order to compete with amexs and cibc's fyf with 30k....

Perhaps to compete with Amex.. But, CIBC Aventura is pretty useless @ 30K points, and their offer isn't FYF.

You and I know that 30k aventura isn't great, but to the majority of aspirational travellers who get glassy eyed when you start talking about mpm, stopovers, or even something as simple as fare class, don't get that.

they see "30,000 points" and "any seat whenever" and they're sold....

I guess CIBC first year free isn't available now when I queried. Gee, must be some arrangement where TD and CIBC isn't ansy about getting any more customers. Not sure if this arrangement is going to result in more competition, or friendly oligopoly.

The earning ratio is worse than 1:1! 1.25 point for every $1.50 charged to the card?

This is awful!

These cards sound terrible. 0.66 miles per dollar / 0.83 or so miles per dollar for $399/year? They can't possibly be serious.

I'm sticking to my Aerogold / Amexes.

Earnings rate correction

Sorry, my fingers just typed the value from the previous column on the sheet.

The Infinite and Infinite Privilege are 1/1.25 miles per $1.00 -- I've corrected my previous postings.

Agreed. The existing Amex Aeroplat is far superior than the TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Privilege if the "benefits" as posted here are in fact true and correct!

I corrected my typos re: earning rates on the Infinite and Infinite Privilege cards.

This info is from the "reference guide" provided to TD sales staff, which "provides a complete list of the features and benefits".

Apoligies, I see the edit now.

It looks like TD took the aerogold and aerogold infinite and enhanced them both down a rung. Then introduced a card that's supposed to compete with the aeroplat......but doesn't.

Not as bad as I was hoping. I'll definitely pick up the infinite on a fyf, the regular and the plat aren't worth my time. I'll probably think long and hard though about paying that annual fee when the fyf is up....
