I'm confused? Your description suggests you booked T and got T. Could you please clarify?

Why was the 787 announced with fanfare by the forum resident AC spin person, but the movement of fares to Tango and the fiasco regarding rebooking people was not addressed at all?

Does AA do the 50% of miles? or United?
Thinking now is the time to go Westjet.... for canada and AA for cross boarder and international

I was wondering the same thing. Shameful.

At the moment AA miles earned on WS only are base redemables and I don't believe the elite accelerator applies, nor if there will be a 25% or 50% bonus for the new premium seat.

If your reference to 50% is actual mileage earned, then no it is actual distance flown albeit with the minimum 500 per segment only applying for those who are AA elites. Until you earn status, it's actual miles flown with no mininum.

Nor has our AC spokesperson explained by it is only AC/AE who have been asked by many of its STAR partners to charge the fuel surcharge, while UA and US still don't have to add this to their awards...even awards on AC metal!

lol.. so true.

AC was asked by the others to charge YQ on awards... I wonder if anyone still believes that fairy tale.

Any updates to this? I have one set of flights coming up in a couple of days that were "Tangoed" but were automatically moved back to Flex (W), but another set in a couple of weeks that remain at Tango (and were booked as Flex). Called in last night and the agent *thought* they were doing something behind the scenes but wasn't sure. Can call in on Monday (the start of the holiday promo eUp window) to have them manually request the upgrade and override the Tango designation, but my bigger concern is the status miles and really not wanting to have to fight with AC or AP after the fact if I can help it.

Does there seem to be truth to what someone said earlier about all this indeed being done automatically and by day's end today or should I call back and try my luck with someone else that they can manually move those remaining flights back to Flex?

As you noticed on your first set of flights, it is automatically being corrected. While I don't know how they've set the routine to run in their system, I'd expect is is running through bookings based on time until departure, with close in bookings changed before far out ones.

My advice is to give it Monday, and than call and have them manually override it if it hasn't changed by then.

Have flights coming up on Sunday.

Booked in Flex in Nov. Changed to Tango on 3 DEC.

Upgrades waitlisted. R space came up . Upgrades cannot clear because the flights show in Tango. Now the R space is gone!

Called SE Reservation several times Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday , told in their system shows Flex.

Tried to tell them, in Manage my Booking showing Tango.

Cannot speak to supervisor. New procedure. Supervisor has to call me back.

YUL SE Agent tells me you are SE call the Concierge to fix.

This continues I will have no choice :I moved half of my travel to United in 2004. Ten years later in 2014 I have to move the balance of travel I guess I cannot deal with this nonsense.

Sorry, I mean that I expected to get UA T as I was booking on UA's website. UA T earns 100% miles.

No idea why it mapped to AC T, which earns 50%. Never had this issue before.

Even in the past, when I booked with UA, I could always rest assured that whatever fare class I was booking, it would map to a 100% earning class on an AC codeshare. Now, seems to be not so any longer?

Correct. The goal is that the letters will map 1:1 on UA, AC & LH. So a T fare will book into T on all 3, regardless of if its a codeshare or not.

Is it great for mileage accumulation? No; though that's not actually a result of this change, but instead the result of AC expanding Tango worldwide. OTOH, it's a good step towards transparency as you'll know exactly what you're going to get. No more booking UA E fare to find it books into S on AC and something else on LH.

The general public, I would believe (though I don't like believing this) thinks that the ticketing carrier is the MSC in the award, when it is AC.

Another call to AC. The fix changing the Tango to Flex has not happened automatically by the end of day Dec. 5. The agent wasn't willing (or able) to do a workaround for my flight so it remains as Tango on the Manage My Bookings. I was assured that I would get 100% miles but if I want to upgrade I will have to phone in. I am frustrated. This is the second time the same flights have been affected by the downgrade and I have had to call AC far too many times. Oh, and he said that when I book a flight I should be sure to look for the little box regarding upgradeable fares and that was why my Tango part would not be upgradeable. I know that what he was trying to tell me was a whole lot of hooey. I will call another agent later if I have the courage.
