Call in, they'll change it for you. Should be automatic, but it takes time, impacting people with immediate needs. I know, I got caught in the last mess in September.

No you did not.
And yes, you are. Thats the way AC plays the game. Imagine the thousands of people who booked tickets via an agent, or not with Air Canada, or not on AC stock, or as a codeshare. Their tickets wont be automatically adjusted, imagine their surprise when they get home with only half the miles. |

Have to agree with you here. I have a cnx at NRT next month and called AC to verify that the booking class I was booked at gives me 100% Q miles on the connecting Star A carrier. Indeed, frustrating.
btw, congrats on 10000 posts :) |
First flight of 2014
Just experienced this "enhancement" this morning.
Heads up: unless you book flex, YUL-LAX is an almost guaranteed middle seat. I could not get an aisle O a window - ANY row - this morning. Checked with my agent, confirmed I was in an old Flex / new Tango bucket, changed to Flex, and instantly "seat selection unavailable" became 13c and 14c. So it's not only AQM and miles. It's also basic seat selection, which is blocked. Not premium seating, just plain seating. On a 3/3 A319 on a 6h route, that's a pretty big deal. And i'm not talking last minute booking, this is for a flight in 5 weeks. |

So now all my flights (TPAC, TATL, NA) require a good premium for flex fares..
Bulk of my flights are transborder flights, and now I really need to think what to do with this new NA fare structure. Honestly I'm fine with not upgrading my transborder flights if I end up buying Tango fares, I can withstand 3-5 hours sitting in Y when J is just a bigger seat with food. However, 50% mile accumulation bugs me a lot...maybe I should just let go of this stupid status game and just shop for the lowest fares. |
If I were you

Here's another wrinkle, I don't know if a call to reservations will be able to help me with this. I went to upgrade my upcoming SR (I should have done this a couple of days ago when my window opened up).
Booked via a TA. Booking class was originally S, now moved to W. My outbound flights aren't grouped together like they used to be, neither are my inbound flights. Instead they are grouped into 4 separate groupings under the headings "flight 1", 2, 3 and 4. As a result, the system isn't giving me credit for connecting flights. An itinerary that should cost me 20 eUpgrades is showing up as needing 28. |
Argh, was going to book last night in a combination S/T fare on UA/AC. Decided to wait a day...didn't see this until today.
oops. :( Any chance I can call in and ask whether it'll get bumped to Flex? |
As posted on the other thread, on YUL-CDG, class O (PE) is now somewhere between Tango and Flex (actually 200$ cheaper than Flex)...
Flex prices are just ridiculous... |

You are right, they rose the prices to 1500$ from 1150$ for PE for the dates I booked yesterday :p

I'd also have purchased it for this price but sadly I didn't know it was this low, and I don't usually fly out of YUL (YYZ is my base). |

Nice..$1150 for PE (I assume it's a round trip) is pretty good.
