Booked flex ticket in W class back in May. Tried to upgrade and couldn't but agent did manual upgrade over the phone. Just checked my Aeroplan account and it seems I've been given 50% miles. Now I wish that I had insisted that the agent change the fare class on the phone. Honestly, I don't have time to go on about how annoying this whole thing is but AC seem to know exactly what to do to annoy customers.

This could very well be me in a few weeks. Could you please report back as to how you get AC or AP to give you the 100% miles that you deserve? And, yes, it is very annoying.

I would say call them and insist that the agent change the booking to a clear Flex booking class. That way there will be no issues. My OH who credits to A3 and would have achieved gold status is not going to get it now thanks to this.

I did call them yesterday and I have had my 5 upcoming flights changed to Flex. I can even see it when I go to Manage My Bookings. Thing is, I don't trust that all this will work once the 5 day window is there and for the crediting of the miles! I really feel for your OH and not getting A3 Gold. My OH and I are flying SQ in January crediting to A3 and should be able to get Gold with A3 if that doesn't change. Then, adieu AC!!

Just a quick FYI: "posts by others" appear to now be hidden by default, but they're still there. Just click on "highlights" then select "posts by others" to see them.

Thanks! ^

I wonder how the call center Staff feels about these changes and all the customers calling in(especially those who knows how this impacts them) to make them do the adjustments?

Finally called in with my LH6779/80 flights. Was promised that codeshares will definitely be upfared as well, but only once under the airport control (T-24). Word "automatically" never came up. Will report the outcome in November.

That is a way to tell you to get lost. What assurances did they give you?

I agree. Comments from call centre staff like that make me very nervous. This migration has been handled poorly and AC doesn't give a damn who's caught up in it.

I'm almost certain as mentioned by Ken, all this IT difficulty is by design. If there was a hole in AC's system that was costing the airline money, they would have it patched even if they had to fly an army of IBM India engineers to fix it.

When it comes to this kind of matters, the airline just simply couldn't care less. Which is really, truly how AC generally feels about customers these days. They can fill the seats on fairly high fares so customer service is not exactly a priority these days.

It's dangerous gamble that could (and most probably would) pay off in the short term but it will really undermine the long term survivability of the airline by alienating pax. But AC's looking at 6 months down the road only so that won't matter.

There must be thousands of people affected by this downgrading (ie all who booked "Flex W and S prior to Sept. 24). Assuming that some are FTers and others aren't but who check their Manage My Bookings regularly, why isn't there more of an outcry? Has AC sorted this out for all involved? I doubt it, but that's just me.

When I raised this question a couple pages back, I was told that all flyers check their bookings, and that there is no way anyone would not notice.

All I can say is that everyone who booked Flex W or S before Sept 24 is involved. Where is the huge outcry? Do only a few of us book Flex to have the potential of playing aerolotto and gaining miles? I think not.

Why would you lie about what was discussed, especially when it's so easy to go back 1 page and see what was said? At no point did anyone suggest that "all flyers check their bookings."

Don't expect to see a "huge outcry" here on FT; the vast majority of pax who booked Flex W or S fares prior to Sep 24 are not FT members. The outcry you're seeing in this thread are from those who are.
