Yeah, most of the posters in this thread are happy Amex holders. You are not only getting welcome bonuses with first year free, you can also get referral bonuses when you refer others. We just hope Amex keep these good offers alive for long.

I self-referred in early November, I got the bonus on my AeroPlat for the referral already (15k, I thought I was only going to get 10k) and just had my first statement date yesterday on the AeroGold, hoping very much to see 30k points show up in my account. (Hit the minimum spend before the first statement).

I am still waiting for the remaining 25,000 points to come in! I was supposed to receive my 3rd statement on December 10th but did not so I called Amex - they said I didn't spend any money last month (true) so they didn't send me a statement. When I asked about the 25,000 points I am owed he said it takes 8-10 weeks from the time you spent the minimum $500 for the points to come in, so he said in my case the EARLIEST I would see it is mid-January.
When I got off the phone, I checked my statements online and saw that I had spent over $500 on September 24th - 12 weeks ago! Way beyond the timeframe for the points. So I called Amex again.
This time, I talked to a lady that said I already got 15,000 points - I said NO, I got 5,000 from my first statement and the additional 10,000 are from a REFERRAL - they are not bonus points. I am still owed 25,000!
So she wrote to head office so they can look into it. She said it should show up on my next billing cycle.
Ugh!

Make at least one transaction per month on the card to ensure a statement generates.
I'm sure your missing points will post in January, all of the rest of the September enrollees had their outstanding 25k post in December - mine just posted this AM.
And yes, agents (including e-mail agents) are hopeless at distinguishing different categories of bonuses. I guess 99% of cardholders never ever refer a friend so referral bonus issues may arise once a year for telephone agents.

AMEX rep told me you only get a statement if balance is not $0, so I didn't get my #1 statement on Sept 17 as I haven't spent anything on it in time
Not sure if this does the trick, but I overpaid my CC by $10 to generate a statement
It shows only a $10 credit (I haven't used it since I met $500) on my Dec 17 statement (my #4, Sept/Oct/Nov/Dec) and a welcome bonus of 25K
