My suspicion is -- given the relatively recent policy change -- non-SE J customers probably have limited awareness of concierge service.

I was under the impression that concierge service was only extended to J customers relatively recently. Maybe I'm remembering wrong.

My first ever experience with two AC concierge agents at TPE. As I approached the counter they asked me if I was Mr Acfly. There are 3 Concierge stationed in TPE. One escorted me to security and another one escorted past security to the lounge in TPE.
It wasn’t particularly useful as I could have walked through myself, and it wasn’t as if they granted priority immigration. Seems to me that the concierges in general are getting more proactive. Had another concierge at YVR meet me and take me in a cart to US security/customs as the connection was tight. I had not asked for assistance. |

Friendly concierge greeted me at the checkin desk at TPE, walked me to security. I think she would have walked me to the lounge but since I have been to TPE a few times I told her I knew where it was.
During my recent departure ex-TPE it took me a good 30min to clear security and immigration which I was very unimpressed by. According to the staff there's no J/*G priority line. |

I assume the TPE concierges can't get you to the front of the security line / provide some form of fast-track security?

However if you have an APEC card the concierge can take you thru the staff channel. When I was there two weeks ago I went from curb to lounge in less than 10 minutes thanks to that shortcut. Easy online application for APEC if you already have NEXUS. |

And if you travel for bonafide business purposes :p
But it might still be worth a try to ask the concierge at check in for a fast track escort, even if one does not have the APEC card. My business partner was traveling with me (and doesn't have APEC) and was still let thru. So YMMV. |
Called today about an issue, and she had my profile and next flight on her screen without asking.
It's such basic tech, but it's so much better than "CAN I GET YOUR SUPER ELITE NUMBER PLEASE?" |

From your phone number or after you tapped your number into some initial automated request?
I never entered any number anywhere. It's based on caller id. As it damn well should be. I first experienced this a couple years ago, but then not again until earlier this year. Now it's more common. Though I still occasionally have them ask me for my name or such, so I'm not sure how it's implemented. |
