The Concierges at YWG try to make all SE's feel special from what I have seen. I am YWG based and they all are amazing at recognizing SE's as they come through
I fly out of YYC every week, never met a concierge. Once this year I asked at the YYC MLL to have a concierge call me, no call came. Also once this year at YYC I phoned the concierge line and asked for a local concierge to call me, no call came. I had a very tight connection in FRA this year, phoned the concierge line and asked for help. The response? Sorry, we are unable to help you with that, just follow the signs. So I'm not sure what the concierge can do for me except for the excellent team in LAX who I do know. I fly through LAX about 3 times a month and that team has gone above and beyond every single time there is a wiff of IROPS. I also haven't boarded a single flight from LAX this year where they don't come and shake my hand and say hello before boarding. If it wasn't for LAX I wouldn't know AC even had concierges. |

I don't often need any help but they make them selves aware of routings etc to make sure nothing is delayed or cancelled. I have received calls multiple times if flights are delayed to not hurry to the airport or information that I have been protected on another route. they are epitome of what I think the concierge service is supposed to be.
Friendly and helpful to SE's and notify and protect if there are any issues.. |

You make it sound like this was a quasi regular occurrence with your assistance from concierges. I never got any charges or fees waived by concierges unless it was outright IROPS based. I think I got walked to the plane alongside a concierge once.
Clearly, it must've been due to your refined looks. :D (We have never met so I have no clue what you look like :p ) Perhaps the concierges feel sorry for the way I look:p:D |
Please note a grand total of 19 posts have been deleted to try and get this back on the thread topic which is what an AC can concierge can do, not defined pension plans, labour relations matters or AC vs. WS comparisons. A number of these deleted posts were 'piling-on' comments which shouldn't have been made as they only push the thread further & further off topic so please refrain from adding these types of posts if they don't contribute anything to the thread topic.

One just needs to know where their office is. |

Variance by station, by who you happen to get on the phone, and huge variance in some getting the "random" car service and other benefits..... Until the product is consistent, it will not meet expectations |

Dealt with FCO and YUL concierges yesterday 14AUG.
At check in for AC893, due to late inbound AC892 it was clear that the cnx to our YUL-YQB flight at 1630 was not going to work. The recently hired concierge in FCO (didn't catch the young lady's name unfortunately) took the initiative and said she would advise YUL of the issue. She also took the booking reference of my travel companion who was on a separate reward ticket. We arrived at YUL about 30 minutes late at 1544. Very busy in YUL arrivals area and customs hall. We were met by YUL concierge Maria who made sure our connecting bags were properly re-directed to the 1700 YUL-YQB flight. We got them on the cnx baggage belt at 1615. We then made our way through CATSA screening and then across to the QK gates and boarded AC8768 at 1640 for an OT departure at 1700. I hadn't had an INT misconnect with checked bags for a few years and I was pleased with the service received at both FCO and YUL. Courteous and proactive attitude at both stations. |

Am I missing something, is this a published benefit?
And while I would generally like to believe that if an SE and no-status person were making the same connection, the SE would get the perk, I wouldn't make that assumption. Though if they add more cars, I could see it becoming more of a published benefit (with an "if available" clause). |

What is the likely response if I call in to make a SDC for another person?
It's for a later flight (otherwise I'd just tell him to show up at the airport in time for the earlier one), so if OLCI doesn't offer it, the only reasonable option is calling the concierge. My number is in the FQTR field on the PNR, so it at least can be shown that it's "linked" to me in some way. From http://www.aircanada.com/en/travelin...oncierge.html: Altitude Super Elite 100K members ... can enjoy exclusive dedicated service in 42 airports around the world from more than 200 carefully selected Concierge Agents... Concierge Agents are also immediate resources for personal needs and last-minute arrangements, ... or any other special needs Altitude Super Elite 100K ... customers may have. The alternative is an extra $15 and an IKK slot, which I'd rather save. |
They have always helped me out with other PNR's if I am traveling with the person - in fact they have never even hesitated.
