I'm on a Latitude FP to LHR, upgraded. I ask to be moved to a later flight. Concierge tells me she can't do it as I'm originally in S (lol) class. I insist and insist....to no avail.
My phone and laptop are dead...can't prove anything to her.

Head to MLL and have the change made in <3 minutes.

For what it's worth, I no longer phone the YYZ concierge service for SDC. Reservations offers more consistent service.

Similarly at the airport, it's better to talk to those at the counter than in the office.

I'm sure they're all very nice people, but I'd rather deal with someone experienced.

Received two texts this morning.

1. I cancelled that flight last night. So I called the main concierge line, and it wasn't showing cancelled in their system. So I called Orbitz, and it is showing cancelled there. They said it takes time to synchronize ticket changes. Given the original departure time is 30 minutes from now, that seems like an issue.
2. The phone number provided had two digits transposed, so clicking it didn't work :p

But it's good to see all this proactive reaching out. I've received emails before, but never texts.

And this is the perfect example of why I find it unacceptable that non-SEs don't have the ability to call the concierge line even if traveling on a valid itinerary. I would've probably have been unloaded despite being entitled to concierge assistance just like you.

+1

The telephone no. can be provided in the itinerary/eticket confirmation, similar to On My Way.

YYZnomad:2015 AQM=511,075; Chances are, I fly more than you and you'll have to accept that fact. Hello to the useless fly-once-to-see-grandma non-contributory RCHHMP folks here.

Really shocked you posted this quote under your handle. Do you really believe that people care that you fly as much as you do? Keep flying but don't insult infrequent flyers. They fly when they need to. Same as you. Life on the ground can be good. Very good. Actually there is nothing about your flying envy worthy.

Car rental return

I was stuck in traffic in the tunnel in Boston last week, and the concierge offered to meet me and return my rental car for me. Ended up I didn't need him to as I missed my flight due to the traffic, but I was impressed.

We left an item in the YHZ MLL this morning. YOW MLL staff said they have no ability to dial long distance nor could they disclose the lounge contact information as they are unpublished numbers. They said the only recourse was to file a claim with AC central lost and found.

YYZ concierge called YHZ for me, confirmed the item was there, got it put on the next nonstop to YYZ, and they will be meeting me at the gate with it due to a tight connection. Wow!

What the Concierge can't do: help you to switch from a UA flight on a UA ticket to an AC flight.

UA is a mess today. I'm booked YYZ-ORD-ROA and YYZ-ORD is delayed 1.5 hrs. My connection is now very tight. All UA agents are busy dealing with the cancelled IAH flight. For the UA lovers / AC haters the UA res line is "at least 30 mins". Called the Concierge to see if they could get me on the AC flight instead. Unfortunately they could not do anything without having control of the ticket and had no better number for UA then I had. I was quite surprised that they didn't have better access to UA reservations.

Hopefully my ORD-ROA flight is delayed.

Sent the YYZ Concierge desk two emails last week...one request and one follow-up on my lost/stolen laptop.

I saw a note on my PNR that pertained to one email, so I know it was received by them.

I still haven't rec'd a reply to either email.

Not surprised. If your UA ticket involved any AC segment for the day of travel, it would be a lot easier for them to take over the ticket and help you out; however, your ticket was all UA from the sounds of it.

I've said this before but the DEL concierages are amazing, in fact they are out of this world! In a period of 3 weeks I interacted with them twice, and both times they saved my a$$. And both times they were so pleasant and friendly I was almost happy for the problems I ran into because I got to interact with them.

Is there a Concierge at PVG? I'll be flying back from there in July, in J.
