Just wondering what the general consensus is, from the AE forum-ites.
For those of us who must travel with the plebes on long-haul flights, is the space in front of 18/30/50 DEG an acceptable space to crossover from aisle to aisle (usually to utilize the "other" washroom).
Always? Never? What if somebody has their laptop plugged into the power plug on the bulkhead wall? Should you have to ask the person seated?
Curious to hear people's take on it, especially since AC charges Prestige and under a fee (and is an E/SE "benefit") to occupy these seats.
Whenever I get stuck in Y, I will pay extra to be seated in the bulkhead seats. I've always had people either a) not bother to go through or b) graciously ask if they could sneak through -- and there has been no issue.
For the record, I was seated in 30D and a gentleman moved my belongings without asking so he could see if the other lavs were free. When he found out they were not, he then did the same thing to return to his original aisle. When confronted, the gentlemen said that I should be "obliged" to let him pass through because I had more space in my row than his.

IMHO it's unacceptable to cross over in front of other people's seats like this (unless it's an emergency).
It's possible to cross at the galleys. So long as it's safe to do so (no meals being prepped etc) then that should be the place to cross over.
I suppose this is another benefit of being in J - the crossing points are clearly defined!

No it is not and we usually place our hand luggage and pillows on the floor so as to prevent anyone from crossing over, even putting feet up.
i would have advised the flight attendant to confront him for removing your personal belongings and interference with your well being on the flight....
afterall that is part of your legroom that is too narrow to be (and its not) a common corridor, so why are they allowed to move stuff and walk over?
you should have told that a*****e that you paid for that extra space and its your space.... and if they touch it, accuse him of attempted theft of your personal belongings

Completely unacceptable IMO!
Its not like there is an additional 1m legroom in the bulkhead row, its more like 20cm. Fortunately Ive never seen this happen when I was in a bulkhead row.

I agree that it is totally unacceptable! We were in it a few weeks ago LHR-YVR and it happened a couple times (to my travelling companion who paid for the privilege)! I'm booked in it next week and will do my best to block aisle jumpers (politely).
It's considered good etiquette to trip anyone who tries this, or at the very least spill your drink on them as they push past.
In their defence, if nobody has their legs out it can look like a passageway.

I can just imagine the huge thread an incident like this would cause "Mauricio Jr. puked at me. Originally Posted by Mauricio23
