they still refuse to ”downgrade” from O to I and refund 15k miles... the only option they give is to get a full refund, but if so, I wont be able to choose again seats in former F cabin

As per info received from Asiana, the ones initially booked in F will keep their F seats (business suite) as exception, otherwise if you have a new booking in J, you will only have access to J seats.

Called Asiana, they switched me to 2k from 17k, with the change, seems the orig booked seat choice was deleted
I checked the Asiana site and United site, they both still show 2k

I’ve noticed TK awards now come as first class (O bucket) rather than business. As far as I remember TK does not have a first class cabin. I imagine these can be booked over the phone for the correct mileage?

I booked a business ticket from IST to BCN flying with TK using A3 miles.
It seems that I can not preselect a s at using the manage my reservation at TK site.
I asked TK about it and their reply was that I can select only during th check in

I guess you'd have more chances of receiving an answer if you had posted in the TK forum, although, after the answer you got from the airline your chances of achieving your goal are minimal... Of course, you can try HUACA.

i didt get your logic. They listed TP and TK as options for First for a longhaul to NA so „prices” are 60k in F instead of 45k miles in J + taxes. so where the benefit is?

e.g. TK connecting to TG at BKK for a IST-TYO (either HND or NRT) all booked in 0 First class rates (instead of a mixed class booking)

As it's not possible to have a mixed F/J booking paying the F mileage rate it's actually beneficial to be able to mix an actual F (O class) seat with a connecting flight in J (mistakenly showing as O class).

But these "mistakenly-shown-as-O-class" flights are actually the ECONOMY flights, not the business class ones. There's no benefit in booking one of these and, even if you do, I suspect bookings will be cancelled when they realise the mistake.
