Yes, in the end I cancelled and rebooked...but it was such a PITA to get to the point of being able to do that. I like ACCOR hotels but the glaring deficiencies in the ‘new and improved’ system drive me to distraction. “ Striving to better, oft we mar what’s well” ( Albany in Lear, 5.3)

I have extremely little experience with Accor.
I've tried twice to book Ibis Styles Buenos Aires Florida and can't. I came to the forum to see if there is a property thread. It may be very very new, not yet open, or a website problem. |

Works for me
The way I came to find the property in the first place was through Tripadvisor --> Booking.com. I ended up booking through Booking.com because I'm pressed for time today, the res is for next week, and the rate is the same as non-refundable, yet flexible until 5:59 pm on day of check-in. I submitted a special request with my reservation and soon after received a confirmation my request has been accepted. That given, I think the ALL website problem I had earlier was/is a website problem. |

If you do a search eg for Sydney and then click on the result for one of the properties shown and then go up to the top left hand corner of the webpage you will see a link "Hotel List" clicking on this takes you back to essentially the previous page but with a "Rate Calendar" link under each property. There may be an easier way but this is how I bring up the rate calendar

Not anymore.
It did work 2 weeks ago. It is nice when useful features are enhanced away .... There are two main types of customers booking a hotel room, ones where they have to say in that area ( but not necessarily that hotel ) on a certain date, and those who are looking to go to the area but are flexible on dates. Accor IT goes out of its way to make both types of customer work very hard to see rates and availability of hotels over a period of say one month. Accor partner websites can display this information, but why not Accor ? |
Since one week my app shuts down when I click the tab Bookings to see my pending stays (Android).
I have tried to re-install the app but it does not help. Does it happen to anybody else? |

iPhone App : while connected, for a booking, registered CC in my profile were not proposed and I had to enter all information. Otherwise, booking process was fine and without issue.
My credit card is registered in the App but I still had to type all the details manually. |
Was there ever a response to the "Oops" message "The hotel is unavailable at these dates for the number of guests requested" Happens on the app for every room I search for.
I think its due to inputting 2 adults and 1 child into the search because if I change it to 3 adults I get a family room pop up. I know Mercure has inconsistent children policy (some hotels they are adults at 12, some are 16 etc and then you cant have 3 adults in a room et etc) If I hadn't persisted with this, would never have seen availability and given up. It was only because I checked the website on the desktop did I see there was plenty of rooms available. Must be losing Accor hundreds of bookings... |
It is not just Mercure that has an inconsistent child policy; it is the same across all brands. On top of it, most hotels seem to have set up the child/capacity information incorrectly for the app and/or website, so the search returns random results that may or may not be correct for the composition of adults and children you searched for. I've now adopted the habit of always only searching for two adults, which gives a mostly correct overview of available room types and prices. Only in a second step I will re-run the search with children to compare results. Usually room types will disappear inexplicably, or prices magically change, very often in contradiction to the child policy stated in the written rate conditions. This is clearly designed for people with an investigative mindset, who like to spend time to find the errors and inconsistencies in the room/rate/child capacity configuration of particular hotels. It's part of the ALL experience, which provides for endless entertainment and mystery...
In short: the only way to get correct information about room capacity and children is to contact the hotel directly. Do not rely on the app or the website. |
Dear members,

Latest ‘enhancement’...it’s no longer possible to see the rate details when reviewing existing reservations on the APP. For example, I have several reservations over the next 6 weeks: some are flexible, others are prepaid. Under the previous version of the APP, it was possible to simply click on them to see the rate and nature of the reservation. Not any longer: I keep getting error messages: “ no reservation matches that criteria “ , or words to that effect. So I can’t tell if I’ve prepaid, or if , with a flexible rate, if I should cancel and rebook, given the very fluid rates in Asia at this time.
I don’t like to be rude, but this is borderline cretinous.... |
