Dear all
it's been a while since we discussed other topics than covid-related ;) I just saw that an interesting update of the exclusion list for SNU has been posted in april. Interesting in the following aspects : - the presentation has been modified : before it was starting to list all the non-participating countries (France, Greece, Italy, Spain, Monaco, Portugal) and the list of non-participating brands followed by the list of non-participating hotels. Now it is indicating the list of participating brands (luxury and premium : Raffles, Delano, Sofitel (+ So/Legend), Fairmont, MGallery, Pullman, Swissôtel, Grand Mercure, Mövenpick) followed by the list of non-participating hotels. - no more non-participating countries are listed and the list of non-participating hotels include some French hotels (most to not say all MGallery + a few Pullman). But it means for instance that all French Sofitel are now eligible to SNU use ! For Greece, there is one hotel in ATH excluded, but the Sofitel at the airport becomes now eligible (I don't know if there are other eligible hotels in Greece). Italy : no excluded hotels, so it means that the Sofitel Villa Borghese should be OK. No exclusion listed in Spain, Portugal and Monaco - regarding the list of non-participating hotels, comparing this new list to the previous update (february), there are no more excluded hotels in Belgium, Colombia, Bahamas, Ivory coast. And there has been a reduction, sometimes significant, of the list for Brazil, Thailand, Germany, Singapore, Netherlands, USA. https://all.accor.com/loyalty-progra...pdf-snu.en.pdf So this is a very positive move. But...it would be nice to obtain an official confirmation from Accor, as some places of the website for ALL status are still showing the previous excluded countries (see screenshot below). But it may be just a page that has not been updated. I will ask Accor for clarification. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...0c3f6e34c3.png |
On the risk of sounding opportunistic but now would be a good time for Accor to clamp down on errant or unwilling hotel owners: "Do you want business, any business at all, well than accept the new uniform rules". Uniform rules would of course be a miracle on planet Accor but this seems to be a tiny step in the right direction. Who knows we might even see a second drinks voucher in France :D

I received confirmation from Accor that the Sofitel in France do accept SNUs since March. So there is no more 100% excluded countries, but “just” a list with excluded hotels.

I have just tried to use 3SNU for a stay in Sofitel Queenstown where I had a cancelable booking done online.
First, the hotel told me that they are not able to do it and I shall call the customer service. So I called the customee service and I was informed to call the hotel :) After back and forth emails with customer service I finally got the reply that the hotel agreed to change my booking to a non-refundable one with higher price than the initally booked as refundable rate and apoly my SNU certificates. Is this is joke? Of course I replied I do not agree and I will think it over to look for some other hotel that cares about loyal customers. Who the hell is going to book a non-refundable booking in these times? There si a huge gap in the services offered by different hotels in regards to SNUs application. I must say I was impressed by Sofitel New York that said No problem to apply SNU even for a non-refundable booking. And I thought that I would get similar treatment in the other Sofitel in Queenstown that is not actually a cheap 2-star hotel. I was totally wrong... Such a shame on how this benefit is managed within Accor... |

I had the same e-mail this morning, saying I earned 6 more. I have no idea what from. I had 11 of them previously. If I earned 6 more, they're not yet in my Accor account.

Received the same email but I can't find any new SNU's in my ALL account.
Highly unlikely I will use them. |
Can these be applied to the bookings with the current Fairmont two for one promo?
