2 nights this weekend at Xian Sofitel Legend costing a bit as we booked the junior suite so we have no problem of qualifying. Question. If I use points to reduce the cost.
For example:
I need to spend just under 4000rmb (I already did the conversion from Euro's spent) to get over the 14,000 status points.
The cost of the hotel is around 6200rmb for the 2 nights including taxes (taxes around 800/900rmb).
If I reduce the total cost with points down to 4200rmb how will they calculate the status points?
Will they :
(1 Credit me with 4200rmb worth of status points or,
(2 Credit me with 4200-800/900rmb of tax in that case I would not get the required points to keep my plat membership.
Anyone have experiences with this?

That is not quite my question answered. If for example as I said the taxes was 800/900RMB, but I then used points to reduce the total cost by 1500RMB, am I only reducing the amount of money I spend that I would earn status points? Because I could use like 30,000 points and pay for 99% of the total cost of the hotel stay which means I am of course paying the taxes with the points.

else, hotel will use CASH PAID minus (TAX + Service Charge value) for point accrual. this is their standard practice, but maybe some hotel operator might have different calculating method thus ymmv
i have a stay at novotel singapore, let's do some math
Amount paid in cash = SGD 27.98
Total Tax + Service = SGD 13.16
Net total = SGD 16.62
Convert SGD to EUR by dividing 1.60 = EUR 10.38
Status point should be EUR * 2.5 = 25.96
Here i have no idea why hotel split it into 2 transaction, but total status point posted correctly so i am ok with it.

My Accor year will end at 124 nights, the higher number of nights on last 4 years.
124 nights included 14 nights paid with points.
Just spent 7/8 nights at no-Accor properties
except for welcome gifts ... (+\- 100 Apples received 😃 i confirm Accor as only and best hotel program for me
I think at least 80% of reservations was made using points promos (X2, X3, X4, etc...). Really high points profit
In Italy, where I mainly use Accor for business, there are promos 80% and more of the time
thanks Accor ! Also to help my health with your apples 🍎

Hello, I am missing 2500 status points for Platinum. Please advise what is the most efficient way to collect them before the year end? It seems I still have to spend around 1200 EUR to get the missing points. I am not sure if it is worth the effort.
Thanks for any tips!

How many nights you need for plt?
Tty see if there any hotel nearby that cost less than €1200 for the required nights.
The good things about LCAH is you can use either status point or nights for membership tier.

if not in Asia or Middle East (no free breakfast or lounge, except really few hotels) I think it isn’t worth the effort
ok, you earn more points as Platinum, but 1200 euro is too much for me ...

My work has for once brought me to a location with absolutely zero Accor hotels, so after two years as Platinum (with 100+ stays/year) I'm still at zero nights/points with Accor in 2018. I have been staying at a Radisson for a bit this year instead, and while it's not bad I gotta say I miss my Sofitels/Novotels...
