- What was good and what was bad?

Good: Platinum status were fully recognized without any mention/presentation of my card. Early check in at 10am. When I asked for late check out the front desk lady said "of course, you are our platinum member". Welcome drink voucher for 1 person was offered though I was checking in with my wife. A plate of fruit and a bottle(750ml) of Evian was set in my room when I came back in the evening.

The breakfast was nice with enough selection of both hot/cold dishes.

Bad: none.

- Name of the hotel:
ibis Moscow Centre Bakhrushina

- What is your Le Club status?
Platinum

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
booked Double room got the same room. I dont think there are higher cat room. I never expect room upgrade in ibis.

- How are the rooms?
Standard Ibis room. Small and clean. but NO amenities at all. NONE.

- What was good and what was bad?

Good: Relatively cheap, not very far from the metro. Very clean and tidy. A comfortable bed was the only thing you can expect from ibis. In the same complex there are mercure and adiago. I arrived Moscow in midnight and not willing to pay the extra for just a few hour sleeping in Mercure.

The receptionist proactively offered me a welcome drink voucher thanks to le club accor. The voucher had my name written on it therefore it was prepared before my arrival.

Bad: No amenities in the room. the room felt empty.

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge?
N/A

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return?
no. for may be 20% more one can stay in Mercure in the same building which is much more comfortable.

MGallery Francis Bath Hotel, UK

- What is your Le Club status?

Platinum

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?

Yes

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?

Booked a classic double room and upgraded to a superior double room.

- How are the rooms?

Superior double room was very comfortable for one person but would be claustrophobic with two. Given this is a converted Georgian mansion, ceilings on the third (top) floor are very low.

- What was good and what was bad?

Good: Room upgrade with in-room Nespresso machine & complimentary bottled water. Complimentary drink. Was on a breakfast inclusive deal (normally £19.50 per person) - breakfast includes a la carte items at no extra charge.

Bad: Specifically requested for early check-in during reservations but room was not ready until 2pm (was told because I am to be given the upgraded room). Low ceilings in specific rooms definitely not for people taller than 5'7.

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge?
N/A

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return?

Yes. Relatively good value for money, even if booked without special offers. But Accor is currently running a 1,000 bonus per stay for promotion for this property. In conjunction for another promotion, I netted 2,500 points for a one-night stay which makes it a bargain!

- Name of the hotel:

Ibis Hong Kong North Point

- What is your Le Club status?

Platinum

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?

Yes

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?

Booked standard room, upgraded to a high floor harbour view room. Yes, harbour view rooms at an Ibis!

- How are the rooms?

Good standard Ibis rooms and good size for Hong Kong. I have stayed in HK hotels that are the same size but costs 3X the price.

- What was good and what was bad?

Good: Good location and very close to North Point MTR station; direct shuttle bus from HK Airport to stop opposite the hotel; good harbour view from almost all rooms from 10th floor upwards

Bad: Only two lifts serving the entire hotel

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge?

N/A

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return?

Yes though rates vary significantly during my stay. Better location than other Ibis properties in HK and generally cheaper.

Unhappy Mercure Paris Terminus Nord

Name of the hotel: Mercure Paris Terminus Nord

What is your Le Club status?
Platinum

Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?:
Moderately

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Standard, no upgrade given (none asked, since only staying one night)

How are the rooms?
The standard rooms are small and cramped, barely any larger than the bed. The bathroom however is big enough. Sound isolation towards the hallway is insufficient. Since the rooms are so small, there's barely any distance between the bed and the hallway, and the walls don't isolate enough so noise from the hallway (doorslams) is bothersome. The room felt old and not very fresh. One could argue it's part of the rustique experience, and it's not that it was dirty, but there are stains on the carpet, the bathtub is chipped, there's cracks in the sink, chipping paint, ... The bedding was very good though. Other amenities include safe, water heater, blowdryer, etc.

What was good and what was bad?

Good: Location: right accross the Gare du Nord. Friendly staff, generally. Abundant breakfast buffet. Rustique hotel, charming common areas.

Bad: Location: not the most clean nor sexy part of Paris. No Le Club status recognition, receptionist was oblivious and I practically had to beg for my free drinks voucher. Rooms lacking of "freshness", as described above. During the whole time of my stay, there was kitchenware on the floor in one of the corners of the hallway (dirty dishes, cups). How none of the staff noticed this is beyond comprehension.

Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge? N/A

Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return?
Depends. For business trips, probably, given the proximity of the railway station, and just for sleep & breakfast. For personal travel, not so sure...

Sofitel Melbourne

- What is your Le Club status?
Platinum

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
LUXURY ROOM CLUB SOFITEL, 1 King Size Bed, City Views

No upgrade available as hotel was full.

- How are the rooms?
Spacious, had a centralised electronic lighting system which was cool, French door window shade things were cool as well.

- What was good and what was bad?

Good: New TVs, you'll have to ask for a DVD player in the room if you want to hook up your laptop or use a USB on the TV as the original TV remote is not provided unless you ask for the DVD player.

Bad: Bathroom is very cramped, plus the flushing knob for the toilet doesn't work so well. Desk was also very small compared to some places I've been (ie. Intercontinental Sydney).

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge?
Yes (paid for it). Was nice to have a place to get to with food and drinks. Would I pay for it again? No. The food provided is only nibbles at best, cold cuts, cheese, biscuits, fruits, dumplings etc. The most substantial meal was the breakfast which had a small menu of 5 hot food items to order from in addition to the usual continental buffet.

In terms of ambience, it was fantastic! Great views and plenty of space.

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return?
Would return just for the room. Would not pay for club access again.

the rooms was nice and in good condition. only downpoint was some black mold on the shower walls.
- What was good and what was bad?

Good:
excelent , friendly and well trained staff. i was immidietly escorted to the executive floor for checkin once i showed my Platinum card and while i was checking in my family was seated in the lounge and taken care off with drinks and snacks.

Gold

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?

Yes

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?

Standard and got standard

- How are the rooms?

Fine, think they have a lot of different styled rooms in this hotel

- What was good and what was bad?

Good: Free drinks voucher

Bad: Arrived at 11.50am and told no rooms available until noon (was in a rush and had a friend in same hotel so used his room to put bag in). Normally that close to noon the hotel receptionist will check to see if a room was ready, this one wasn't interested.

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge?

N/A

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return?

Very good value for £25 on the Monday Madness rate. Yes, if the need to stay in city centre again (i live 10 miles north of Liverpool city centre) and even more so if i can get the same rate again.

Ibis Barking

Gold

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?

Yes

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?

Standard Ibis and got that

- How are the rooms?

Fine as standard Ibis and in decent condition

- What was good and what was bad?

Good: Quick check-in, free drinks voucher and friendly. They have now stopped charging for parking (think it used to be £3 or £5) which i always think is an excuse to make quick profit.

Bad: Nothing on this occasion.

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge?

N/A

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return?

Good value especially for London area, and yes i stay here usually 2-3 times a year (use 5-6 Accor hotels around London dependent on where i'm traveling from/to with work and the price i can get).

- How are the rooms?

Fine and large but bathrooms are very dated and need refurbishment in the main part of the hotel.

- What was good and what was bad?

Good: Quick check-in and out. Free drinks voucher. Decent staff.

Bad: Nothing.

Ibis Reading

- What is your Le Club status?

Gold

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?

Yes

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?

Standard Ibis and got that but was asked if i had any preference of floor.

- How are the rooms?

Fine, not sure how recent the hotel is but still looks in good nick.

- What was good and what was bad?

Good: Quick check-in, free drinks voucher, staff not ignoring me this time to use free drinks voucher, helpful staff at breakfast and they seemed to ensure that food was fresher than you normally see at breakfast buffets.

Bad: Nothing on this occasion

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge?

N/A

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return?

Not cheap for an Ibis but Reading isn't that cheap a place to stay (could stay in a Premier Inn closer to the site i visit but that is usually £120 a night...)

- How are the rooms?

Not standard Ibis rooms (formally a Ramada) and a nice change from corporate Ibis.

- What was good and what was bad?

Good: Staff yet again are brilliant and help make the hotel even better. As soon as i arrived, got presented with free drinks voucher and also the half board voucher for my evening meal and breakfast (only Ibis that seem clued up on half board voucher). Food is decent especially for an Ibis.

Bad: Nothing
