Hotels leaving Accor
Prompted by starflyergold, I decided to start a sister thread to http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/le-cl...gs-2014-a.html, one where we would track hotels leaving the Accor system.
This is a much more rarely publicized event - and hopefully much more rare in general, we do not want LESS choice, do we, and if a hotel is just bad, it would be better had it got revamped - but I guess it would be useful to keep track of properties that are no longer Accor-branded, or entirely closed, for the benefit of those seeking to book one based on past reviews.
I do not have any particular property in mind to start this thread, but perhaps you fellow members do?

Five (possibly somewhat obscure for many) Mercures leave the Accor stable later this year:
Mercure Auckland Windsor,
Mercure Rotorua,
Mercure Wellington Willis St,
Mercure Picton Marlborough Sounds and
Mercure Dunedin
They become Staywell Hotels.

Sebel Pier One
On Travelweekly:
Sydney’s Pier One Hotel in Walsh Bay has become part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection as it parted ways with former management company Accor.
The heritage property, formerly known as Sebel Pier One, has an over-water location on the Harbour.

Seems like the Pullman Beijing West Wanda has left the building, although Accor still hasn't updated their Pullman hotels list and you can still click it to get the "this hotel is no longer disponible" message.

Leukerbad Bristol Leaves Mercure Brand
Received today:
Dear guests,
We are pleased to inform you about some changes at the Hotel Le Bristol, Leukerbad.
After seven successful years with the Accor Group, our cooperation was ended by mutual agreement, and as a result the Mercure brand disappears.
Since April 1, we are the Hotel Le Bristol, an independent wellness and spa hotel in the mountains. We have adapted our appearance and e-mail address accordingly; from now on please contact us at: [email protected].
We have also developed a new website. Come visit us at www.lebristol.ch and find detailed information about our rooms and the restaurant, our private source and wellness center, the town of Leukerbad and our special offers for 2015.
What hasn’t changed are the hotel’s management, its team and our standards of service and quality.
Take a look at www.lebristol.ch, let us know what you think and sign up for our newsletter, so that we can keep you informed about future activities.
We look forward to welcoming you again soon at Le Bristol.
Kindest greetings from the sunny Valais Alps.

The Savigny Hotel in Frankfurt has left the MGallery Collection without much ado. The hotel is a former Sofitel, now severely worn-down and gathering rather unflattering reviews, so not much harm done. I hope Accor, with all the PR about Germany, will quickly find a good franchisee and open a proper Pullman in Frankfurt.
