a Novotel was announced a few years ago but the project was aborted

Some update about the situation in Germany. The insolvency fund was supposed to cover the wages for 3 months and Revo was expecting the situation to improve by the Summer.
It's been only a month but they just announced that some properties are closing down immediately and permanently among which Movenpick Frankfurt City.
More closures are likely expected in the coming weeks.

Pullmann Cologne closing on 01 Dec 2026. The building has been sold and the new owners (who also own the Radisson Blu Cologne and the Leonardo Airport Hotel at CGN) have cancelled the lease.

I have an 8-night booking in the Old Cataract in early June in a 62-square metre room in the Nile wing. Given that the building will be closed for renovation on May 1st, it will be interesting to see what alternative will be offered by the hotel.
