I'm not completely up on French law, but what chance is there of linking up databases? I would have thought a whole buch of privacy issues would be in the way.

But yes, Starwood and Marriott have yet to compare data for their free status giveaways. However, Hilton did compare once and voided the satus of those not eligible.

sonia78220 - do you work for Accor or are you a shareholder of Accor?
I wonder what benefits do you gain by sabotaging this tip!
78220 is the zip code for Bexar County, San Antonio, Texas. Population <20,000.

For some inexplicable reason one of my posts has disappeared.
Just to say again.
Your Gold status will stick - I wouldn't worry what has been posted above it is not in Accors interests to delete it and chance losing a customer. Lets face it, the benefits of Gold are not that great and are only really useful in a small percentage of their hotels.
Marriott gave me free Gold status last year. The many benefits included club room, lounge access with free breakfast and more.
SPG are giving away free Gold status as of now.

To those of you who joined (again) to get the Gold membership: did you use a different home address, e-mail address, card number, etc?
I wonder if it's better to provide different data, or almost the same, in case we can end up transfering points from one account to the other after proving that we have 2 accounts (one for business and one for leisure, for example...)
