Not sure why but I don't think I've ever received an offer to buy up at check in (get them at booking and generally ignore). Might this be because I use my mobile or is it that 1Ks just don't get TOD offers at check in?

Received a $109 offer LGA-IAH from Y to F for a res I booked for 11/2014 LGA-IAH-SFO-LAX. K fare.
Probably the lowest buy up I've received after booking, ever. It was a cheaper buy up than the $129 SFO-LAX one!

I'm a 1K and had 2 recent experiences with buy-ups on international flights:
February 14, 2014
LAX to LHR / UA934
W fare, GPU applied but did not clear at T-24
Offered upgrade to BF for $829 and took it. My rationale was that it was a Friday afternoon flight and someone was probably going to take it. After I purchased the upgrade, offered another buy-up to GF for $829. Declined.
March 15, 2014
LAX to PVG
V fare, GPU applied and again didn't clear
Offered upgrade at OLCI for $989 with 2 seats left.
Sat on it for a bit and then went on UA.com, where I saw R/RN=1. Called to have my GPU manually applied.

Today I booked:
UA6456/UA1435 (SAT-IAH-LGA), for late May travel. The united.com fare was $170.00, though mine was discounted from that amount to $62.00 with a pmUA style "appreciation" e-cert that I applied at the beginning of the booking process.
Offered at purchase:
SAT-IAH: ~$125 (K to "First Class") -- did not accept
IAH-LGA: $109 (K to P) -- accepted
Not sure how that buy up was calculated, but that's one great deal.
I am a 1K.

Colleague just got $69 LAX to SFO (on to FAT on the prop). He purchased an E fare. He declined and chose an exit window. This colleage is silver thanks to the Marriott partnership (and a DL Plat).

Just booked CLE-MCO/RSW-CLE in June. Immediately after booking, the pop-up offered an upgrade to F for $799 on the CLE-MCO segment! F is completely empty (737-9). I had already considered booking in P for $148 more but decided against it since Jeff doesn't even offer his paltry F meal on this flight anymore.
ETA: now that the res is confirmed and ticketed 7 minutes later, my Buy Up To First offer for the CLE-MCO segment is $541. This is some seriously bizzaro math with the UA upgrade computer...

ORD-LHR May 8 and LHR-ORD May 12
Both H fares using a GPU from economy to business cleared; offering an upgrade to F on-line for 829 USD for each segment.
Declined.
