I had two stays here over the last couple weeks with a couple different rooms. The first was over a weekend and had a Towers room; which was awesome. I found a deal through the Hot Escapes that made it about the same price as a standard harbor view room. But I'm guessing this rate was only because of the construction that was going on, although it didn't really bother us during our stay.
But I booked a Deluxe Harbor View Tower room and didn't get any upgrades to a suite or larger room. The room is the standard deluxe room and I book it for the view. The only differences I saw between a standard deluxe room and a tower deluxe room was the addition of mouthwash in the bathroom amenities and a small tube of hand lotion at night instead of their usual chocolates. Other than those two things they are the same.
Here is a day and night shot from the room on the 15th floor.
Here are some images of the Towers lounge; which was very nice.
The following is the setup they have for the morning since they don’t do breakfast in the lounge. You either go down to the buffet (which is great) or up to the Oyster bar which I didn’t try.
They also had a different setup for Afternoon Tea which included some warm foods and basic drinks. And then there is hors d’oeuvres from 5:30 until 8pm where they have other assorted foods along with an open bar of wine, liquor and beer. Here is the beer selection for anyone interested.
The second stay was a deluxe harbor view and the new platinum lounge.
Here are some shots of the new platinum lounge that just opened, and after being the Towers lounge this one left a little to be desired. Although it is still a nice option to have in a city like HK.
Overall this hotel is one of my favorites in Hong Kong. The staff is always great. The location is amazing for getting on the train and getting anywhere. And they are nice views as well. I'll be back in September and looking forward to seeing the new renovations.

Does this property release C&P availability closer in? Want to spend a couple of nights in Nov - put two nights on hold at 16K/night but I'm not a corporate traveler like y'all so my starpoints are precious indeed. Hoping to save some if they open up C&P avail.

I checked in this afternoon and the June pictures are already outdated. I went directly to the Morton's elevator and tried to go to the 16th floor to checkin. Whoops, 16th floor button won't work. Turns out the whole 16th floor is under renovation.
New towers checkin is in 1738 and the lounge has been move to the wine bar on the 18th floor.
The combination of location, room quality, and amenities definitely make this one of my favorite hotels in the SPG system. Although, the guy in the lounge with his escort is creeping me out right now...

stayed here for 5 nights last week.
originally booked king harbour view, put in SNA. upgraded 4 days out to an executive king suite. upon check in, chatted up the front desk guy and asked if there were any harbour view suites available. at first, he said no. but after tapping on the keys a bit more (haha), he was able to put me into a corner harbour view suite.
room was amazing (11th floor) - 3 rooms + bathroom (master, living area, and "office" area. paid HK$250 for a rollaway for my son. awesome room.
platinum lounge was pretty sorry, not sure if there is any point to it other than to get soda. i did miss the happy hour though. breakfast amenity is awesome as well - we didn't go every morning, but considering the actual price of breakfast (HK$250?), couldn't help but be happy with eating for free
a tiny bit of a hike to the actual MTR trains as well as a walking across the road to the harbour area, though there are entrances nearby. this is due to the construction going on. and to be honest, in the summer heat, probably worth the extra steps in AC.
all in all, a great stay and would highly recommend.

How do point upgrades to Towers exactly work? I assume Deluxe gets upgraded to Towers Deluxe, Harbour View to Towers Harbour View etc.? Or is there a more complex calculation to it?

No, they operate separately.
So if you booked a deluxe room in the main hotel you could get upgraded to a suite in the main hotel. They won't upgrade you from the main hotel directly to the towers.
At check in to the main hotel you may be able to upgrade from the main hotel to the towers using points and then see what you get in terms of upgrade when you check into the towers (separate check in)

Just had a 2 night stay here last week.
Really, really liked my Harbor View Tower room. Was upgraded to a "Deluxe Harbor View Deluxe, whatever that means. Didn't push for a suite as I was traveling by myself and I it just didn't matter to me.
The breakfast was as good as any I have ever had in a hotel. The staff was wonderful. The location was very convenient for my purposes. (sightseeing)
I am currently planning a trip back to HKG in December and am seriously considering changing my reservation from the W back to the Sheraton.

Hi - I'm an SPG Plat traveling here for a quick vacation (5 nights) with my wife in a few weeks.
Currently booked the regular (non-towers) room on points, and haven't used an SNA's.
They offered to move me to the Towers for 2,750 points/night -- is this worth it?
It seems like there's a lot of conflicting information online about what's available for Platinums in terms of upgrades / lounge / breakfast in the regular hotel, so I'm hoping someone can chime in here and let me know if it's worth ~14k points to move to the Towers for the stay.
The room I'd love is the Harbor View Suite or the Towers Corner Suite, but they said neither of those are available for Platinum upgrades (SNA or at check in, even though they are available for regular booking). Any help or tips much appreciated!

Then, since you are not using SNA, hope that they upgrade you to a suite, but don't count on it as Sheraton HK is one of the hotels that don't upgrade Plats to suites.

I'm a plat who stays here 4-5x a year in the tower for many years now and only one upgrade and on a stay where I was just there for one night. Book whatever you want in the tower because you're not going to upgraded into it.
