Quote: Thanks for the Gold update. I'm heading to the Cosmo at the end of October and will report back on what they give me as a MR gold. What did the $20 sandwich get you for an upgrade? What did you book versus the room they gave you?
Any update from your stay as a Gold? I'll be there in a couple of weeks and want to know what to look forward to...if anything...as a Gold.

Anybody else had any experiences as a Gold lately?

Thanks.

I have stayed at the Cosmopolitan 6 times since they opened 2 yrs ago. As a gold i really don't expect much. Not too sound stuck up, but i have a casino host at the Cosmo so i usually book through him for better rooms, comped rooms etc. I quite honestly was unaware that the cosmo was even Marriott until this yr lol No signs anywhere in the hotel...

Since this hotel is more of a casino hotel, they seem to cater more to their high level members in their players card (identity membership)

I got back from my stay last week. Was pretty impressed with the hotel and room in general. I did the $20 trick and got upgraded from a city room to a terrace studio with a premium view in the west tower. Other than that all we got was free internet.

As far as other things go I will say the hotel seems to be party central on the strip. We were there the weekend before Halloween and It was much busier at 5am than at 5pm.

Yup! It's pretty funny. I'd be going down to the gym, at 6:30 AM, to work out and the party goers were still stumbling home.

The scene was pretty interesting as we were heading to the airport at 5am on a Tuesday morning. At the elevators on our floor we had a group of young ladies asking us what room they were in.

When we got down to the lobby and checked out there were a few umm....professionals (my assumption) that security was dealing with and discussing how many times they had been asked to leave the property and were now going to be charged with trespassing.

I'd definitely stay there again assuming the price was right and loved the hotel but it gets a little crazy in the early morning hours. If you are in town for work or a convention it might not be the best place to stay.

Cosmo has what is arguably the best nightclub in Vegas right now with Marquee, and yeah, it'd probably be shutting down around 4-5am depending on crowds.

Done the Marquee->Secret Pizza->Walk-of-Shame home to my hotel myself a number of times now.

Secret pizza at 4am one close to the best thing I've ever eaten. Now, had I gone at 8pm I'm sure I would have a different opinion but it was well worth the visit each morning.

Walk of shame? Lol. Nice

Wife and I just got back from another stay at the Cosmo. Booked a 1 BR terrace. Was told at check -in that we were upgraded to a terrace suite, but when we got to room it was not the case (suite is 50% larger and has 2 bathrooms). I did not want to change rooms as we were happy with the great view and I did not want to deal with the hassle.

We had dinner 1 nite at Holstein's - very good.

Of course we took the 2 Wicked Spoon buffets as our Plat amenity.

Looking forward to our next visit.

Check out was quick and easy, and we were at the airport in no time.

If traveling alone, would they split The Wicked Spoon for two into twice for one?

Has anyone been able to checkout using their TV at the Cosmo? I am about 5 for 5 in NOT being able to. I try every time and it always denies me. It irks me to no end that I have to stand in line for 10-20 minutes just to sign and say I 'm leaving. Most of the time I'm on a LNF rate so I don't know if that has something to do with it or what, so I'm just curious if that feature works or not.

It has been noted a number of times how bad the services are at Cosmopolitan. They designed a very poor network for in room services with Voice/Data/Video going through a switch and VPN in each room. They do not have enough bandwidth to do trivial tasks. That is why your TV jitters so bad when watching TV esp. sporting events. So basic TV tasks take forever and probably end up timing out before the task can be completed. Money is usually spent elsewhere at casino/hotels.

On a side note, i have had issues on almost every bill at cosmopolitan which needed to get looked at.
