Sadly for me it's a ticket on AY so it's not even my choice, but I get to travel to Europe from BKK on Finnair which I love, so it's all good in the end.

Well EF seatmap shows the usual 333 config, but then again, they don't show (and neither does QF) the changed seatmap for the alleged inaugural flights for the 332/333's as stated - it could be they're not loaded, or QF is waiting till they are more sure.
I guess your hope is that a sub can happen. I suspect prior to Feb they may only convert 1 or 2 more shells at most, so your changes ARE slim, but like the elusive op up, you never know. Good luck!

First routes from the article:
The first flights will be QF411 between Sydney and Melbourne, followed by QF475 and QF476 on trans-Continental Melbourne-Perth-Melbourne services. The aircraft will fly a similar pattern throughout that week.
The A330-300 with the new cabin is scheduled to enter service on 14 January 2015. Its first two flights are QF415 and QF426 on the Sydney – Melbourne – Sydney sector. These schedules are subject to change at any time and are not guaranteed by the airline.
Services to Asia and Hawaii are planned from 2015 with these reconfigured aircraft.

According to ABT, QANTAS has revealed the inaugural routes for the new product, which somewhat conflict with previous information.
Domestic will get the SYD-PER-SYD rotation (no flight numbers mentioned) while Intl will get the new product on the QF35/36

If this turns out to be the final plan, then this is great news for MEL with the upgraded product.
Also great for my own travel plans as I will be on QF35 in March after the F1, so the new product will be greatly appreciated

Also some suggestion from the AFF thread that
Intl aircraft will be cloth seats, with leather headrest (think all the 300s)
Dom aircraft will be all leather seat (think all the 200s)

The 200s can, via AKL, and have done so before.
There was a period when the A330-200 routed SYD-AKL-LAX-JFK with 3 different flight numbers in each direction. Was pulled and LAX-JFK returned to 747 when the AKL-LAX route was dropped.

I doubt QF will revisit the AKL flight. Think it was a loser against NZ's product and feed; it's a pity as I bet the 332 was a better size fit than the 747 for the JFK tags.

Seems to have been delayed - Current plan is for positioning QF6111 BNE to SYD on Wednesday, with QF575 first operation on Boxing day.
FWIW, it's due to arrive into MEL on Saturday 30 minutes after the departure of the last 763 operational flight departs.
