As another data point, I bought a ticket at LGA this week and asked if they could assign a seat. She said no. So sounds like a YMMV on the seat assignments.

Strolled up to the ticket counter at DFW today and picked up a ticket for this Saturday DEN-DFW. $16.11. I love Spirit!

Do you happen to remember the advertised fare online? $16.11 doesn't fit into the expected results I'm tracking on my spreadsheet ^

Wcalvert - advertised fare online was $34.10. Buying at the airport got me around paying the $17.99 book online fee.

And don't forget that that's $17.99 each way for each passenger -- quite an in-airport savings if you're buying roundtrips for a family.

I'm considering traveling from msp-dfw this upcoming Monday (January 12) and returning the next day. Anyone have luck showing up at the airport and buying a ticket the morning of a flight and getting a cheap ticket? Seems to have plenty of seats when I look online.

Thanks!

Spirit doesn't have any advance-purchase requirements. I've never tried this, but if they have seats, you shouldn't have any problems -- especially mid-week.

Can you let us know how it goes? I'd like to hear.

don't forget if you do this, you'll need to pay $10 for BP you want the agent to print for you

Spirit Airlines "lower fares at airport"

At the bottom of spirits website it says "lower fares generally at airport", does anyone know of how lower the fares are?

Yes, subtract 17.99 per person each way. Not applicable for $9/fare club dates fares.

Can anyone tell me if I can combine a Spirit coupon (i.e. $25 Off, $50 Off) with these airport purchases? If yes, that means additional savings. Thx.

No, Coupons and $9 Fare Club Discounts don't apply at the airport. You just get $17.99 off whatever the listed price online is.

Just picked up some tickets at the counter for ACY to MCO in mid March to catch some baseball games with the guys. Round trip $65.10 each for four of us. Saved $35.98 per R/T ticket.

I bought 2 tickets at the houston aiport but the «not experienced staff» charge me $4.50 for passage fee... where online is 17,99 and theorically at the airport should be 0 ! As all you have shared...

Any ideas? Should i talk again and ask for the $4.50 per person and way back?
