As another data point, I bought a ticket at LGA this week and asked if they could assign a seat. She said no. So sounds like a YMMV on the seat assignments.

I'm considering traveling from msp-dfw this upcoming Monday (January 12) and returning the next day. Anyone have luck showing up at the airport and buying a ticket the morning of a flight and getting a cheap ticket? Seems to have plenty of seats when I look online.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Spirit doesn't have any advance-purchase requirements. I've never tried this, but if they have seats, you shouldn't have any problems -- especially mid-week.
Can you let us know how it goes? I'd like to hear.

I bought 2 tickets at the houston aiport but the «not experienced staff» charge me $4.50 for passage fee... where online is 17,99 and theorically at the airport should be 0 ! As all you have shared...
Any ideas? Should i talk again and ask for the $4.50 per person and way back?
