Tips in Reading Your Walmart Receipt to Prevent Errors
1. Locate the barcode on the back of the Sunnie; this is what Wally uses to load it; somehow their system links the barcode with the account number in the background. The barcode number is what goes on your receipt.
2. Find the "loading" of the Sunnie at the BOTTOM of your receipt. (NOT the top)
3. The last four numbers of the barcode will be shown; that is how you match it to the Sunnie.
What Happens if a Clerk Attempts to Load 1 Sunnie Twice
It will tie up your CC money for 5-8 business days. It will automatically credit back at that time.
Misc. Issues
1. Reports indicate that some stores only accept cash/debit for GC. This doesn't appear to be the case in every store so YMMV.
2. In the same store (or during multiple transactions) misinformed CSRs may tell you "no credit cards." Try a different CSR, or go back.
3. If you receive a "tender not allowed" message or the first swipe didn't work, ask to try it again but don't argue the point. (For some reason, pin-enabled cards fail or take several attempts before they work.)
4. Remember: if your card didn't work and the CSR insists on seeing it or says "no CC allowed" it's best to try a different CSR, lane, or store.

Does WM allow multiple VGC to be purchased in one transaction with other merchandise. Was at local WM last night and when trying to buy two $500 VGC and some groceries, clerk said each card had to be run separate, then groceries could be run. Basically had to make three different transactions to purchase everything. Never had this issue at Kroger, but wanted to see if this was an isolated issue, or is it was their general rule.

As of a few weeks ago, it became chip and signature. Although the only time it has asked for a signature was to accept the terms for the gift card.

I know I can only use 4 swipes for a gift card, but does anyone know if I can use cash after the 4th card? I have gift cards worth 495, but it comes out to really wierd numbers for the cashier to load.

Why don't you have $500 GCs? You can also buy a non-whole numbered MO amount. It's the same out of pocket cost at that rate...

Kate repairs
I saw an NCR technician spend 45 unsuccessful mins trying to repair Kate (Wally-mart Money Center distress ... err ... Express) on JULY 4th in SE Pennsylvania store. I guess they have the NCR techs running ragged and continually fixing these units at many locations if they sent him on a service call on a Saturday and a national holiday?

You could also buy 500 + 500 + 500 + 480 and have a few cents left over on the AGC.

495 x 4 is simpler because you know all your Sunnies are loaded with the same amount, and staying under $500 keeps away the manager

For me, it is about avoiding complexity, dividing the $2000 from the AGC evenly, as much as it is avoiding the manager. Most of the managers I have dealt with don't care but you get the occasional Barney Fife.
I had one lady manager come by and was going to deny me, but she saw I was paying with credit, and told the cashier that credit was always OK - they only worry about fraud on cash only transactions for gift cards. That was a first for me.

I prefer paying fees in cash and buy $500 sunnies at a time. if the store's not busy, cashiers allow 4 separate transactions of sunnies; otherwise, 2 per cashier. I drain these at the next WM or NM.

With all the advances in science, there's got to be some way we can clone her.
