Kate will only allow load totals up to $1999.99 every 10 minutes. It does not matter if it was you or the person before you. If you go over that limit, Kate will freeze. Sept 2015- Several people have reported the 10 minute limit is now longer than 10. Not sure how much longer yet. Several Kate's have locked up following the old 10 minute rule.

9 digit pin problem - Sometimes, for unknown reasons, after you swipe your card and enter your pin, MCE will ask you for a 9 digit pin. To date, no one knows why this happens, or has a fix for it. If it repeatedly asks you for a pin, this is the same as the 9 digit pin problem and there is no fix.
Unplugging and re-booting by a supervisor doesn't fix this problem.

For consistent MCE issues, use the WM feedback link to report:
https://corporate.walmart.com/contac...orate-feedback
Select 'store experience' and be sure to include the store number and address. If you include your name and phone number the stores sometimes call when it is working again. Do not abuse this as it may lead to your MCE being removed.

How to shut Kate up by sosamo
  1. Before you press anything, plug the headphones into the jack near the pinpad
  2. The touchscreen will "gray" out, and you won't be able to press anything.
  3. Press '3' on the pinpad
  4. Press 'Enter' on the pinpad
  5. Continue business as usual on the touch screen.

Note: If you ever make a mistake, to get out, just unplug the headphone.

on the plus side, at least there is no risk of busting the $2k velocity limit with sub $50 loads

My story cannot top doing yer "buzness" in a Walmart garbage. But...

Today I encountered a huge handwritten sign "OUT OF ORDER" on my Walmart's kate. Knowing it's the end-of-the-month, and some poor sap had probably exceeded their monthly limit and blamed it on kate, I decided to try it anyway.

The machine worked fine for me to load a small amount to my BB.

So, maybe the machines are out-of-order, or maybe somebody just mistakenly thinks they are.

The Kate is finally working after being broken for a couple of weeks. I loaded $1500 onto serve and went to McDonald to buy lunch. While I was waiting for my order, the "code blue" was announced and everyone had to leave the building. I heard that it was a bomb threat. After 20min, everyone was allowed inside the building, I was able to load $1999.99 on Kate and got my lunch. I love Kate. Hope it is staying alive.

Just a data point. Today I loaded 1999.99 at a cashier, then the last 500 using Kate. So mixing it up seems to work.

Cashiers can now load $2500.
I do $1000-$1000-$500.
Max load per transaction is $1000, still 4 swipes per transaction.

I love being able to stuff the bird in only two days!

That's pretty funny.
Isnt there a light at the top of the Kate that glows red when the machine is down?

Have you succeeded at 2500 at registers in a day? The daily limit in the BB.com FAQ still reads:
**Up to $1,999.99 per day at Walmart registers.

I've even extremely lucky, and have never had an issue with Kate in the 3 months I've been feeding her. Today, I figured I'd get an early start for the month and pay Kate a visit for some MB VGC feeding. I saw a screen asking for manager login with a PIN... Does this mean someone came in and exceeded the $1999.99 limit, or is Kate having other issues? I asked the cashier at MC who replied "sorry the machine is broken today"

Just trying to figure out ignition should come back in morning or wait a week...

From the early days when this came in effect, people's experiments already showed that, it is per register. So you cannot load more than $1999.99 on one single register but you certainly can use more than one register to load up to 2500 a day.
