I wasn't sure that one could use the FCL A on arrival in F and departure in C on non LH with this itinerary. Thanks so much for the advice!

We are travelling from Heathrow via Frankfurt to Kuala Lumpur this weekend on Lufthansa.
While it could change on the day the Saturday early evening flights from LHR appear to be arriving at the B pier (e.g. 27 or 47) - whereas my onward flight to KL appears to generally depart from the Z pier (e.g. Z23/63).
I have seen suggestions on here that its best to walk to the Skytrain (which could be several hundred metres from the arrival gate) from B to A, pass security and then head down to floor 3 to the Z pier.
We have a tight connection and was curious to know why this is a better route than the tunnel as the airport map seems to have both as an option. Also which route minimises the number of security checks?
http://www.frankfurt-airport.com/con...-terminals.pdf
I note there is a video on you tube showing the route from a B bus gate to gate Z60 (excluding the 20 mins of security checks). It looks horrendous?!

Any tips for the easiest route/fewest screenings would be welcome - although we will aim to follow the signs!

I am arriving later this week into FRA on the Singapore A380 from JFK, which arrives in B as far as I can tell. I am then connecting on a LH Schengen flight that appears to regularly depart from the bus gates in the B Schengen area. All flights in business class. Is there a lounge to use near the bus gates or am I better off staying in the non-Schengen area for a while?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Your best option will be to clear passport control and security to go to the Schengen Business Lounge near gate A13 (or the Senator Lounge on the way to A50 if you are *G), and walk back through the tunnel to your departure gate in B. Allow 7-10 minutes from the lounge to the gate.

I am due to connect in Frankfurt on Saturday evening onto LH782 to Kuala Lumpur – flying in from Heathrow (LH719). It’s a tight connection so time will be of the essence – and of course it’s a non Schengen to non Schengen connection
So far this week the LHR flights have been arriving at the B pier (B28 etc) with the KL flight departing from the Z gates (e.g. Z52).
I am aware the best route is to take the Skyline train – potentially 750m walk from some of the B gates – to A/Z – go through security and then onto the Z gates rather than using the tunnel (which is mainly for Schengen).
Am I correct in assuming there is only one security check on this route – and would connecting on the quieter Saturday evening affect the route choice (as I assume its one of the quietest times of the week – less passengers but also less security staff?).
Any assistance would be helpful – although I appreciate the successful connection will no doubt depend on my LHR flight being roughly on time!

Not sure if you are travelling this Saturday but lufthansa.com is showing Saturday's LH917 will arrive at B28 and LH782 will depart from Z52. I don't believe they know the arrival and departure gates so far in advance but if you walk to the B transfer area and follows the sign to Z, it will take you to the Skyline train. There is only one security check point after you get off the train in A/Z. There will be 4 longhaul flights departing from Z gates that time of the evening but if the flight from LHR is on time you should be fine. The use of the tunnel is not advisable since you will have to go through passport control twice and security once.
I have noticed that todays LH782 flight to KUL was until yesterday scheduled to depart from a Z gate but has now been moved to B25 – along with a couple of other long haul flights. Not sure why the change (possibly lots of people connecting from LHR flights arriving at B piers?). As you say Frankfurt is very unpredictable in terms of where flights depart/arrive which makes forward planning difficult given they seem to even move piers daily!
Hopefully they will move tomorrow’s flight to a B gate as well – although I still believe I have to traverse security even if transiting from gate say B28 to B25 (technically only a few metres apart)!

Yes, you will have to clear security even if you are transiting from B28 to B28 to board exactly the same aircraft as I discovered some time ago!

Next Friday I'm booked on DUB-FRA-ICN with the second segment in LH F with a 2h15 connection.
I've noticed recently that the DUB-FRA flight has always been landing in low-numbered C gates (C4A-C10A, are these apron gates?), while FRA-ICN has been leaving from Z gates.
How do I get from C to B - all my searching hasn't really made that clear. If I choose to go to FCL B, do I have to clear transit security (as it is arriving from the EU) and would I have to make an unnecessary clearance through Schengen? And I would assume I would get a limo ride from FCL B to Z if that's the case?
My default option would be to proceed to the FCT - but I don't want to get another unnecessary stamp in my passport.

Hey tng11,
Trying to answer most of your questions:
The low numbered C gates are real gates, located adjacent to the B terminal (vs. the higher numbered C gates which are almost in Terminal 2). Apron positions are always marked as "Bus" in LH's flight status information.
I personally have not arrived there but FRA in general provides non-Schengen to non-Schengen connections - I'm almost positive that you can walk from there to the non-Schengen B gates without clearing immigration (but clearing transit security) and hence get to the LH First Lounge in B. They will happily drive you to your ICN gate from there.
Hope this helps!
Have safe travels

Primenumber is correct. The lower C gates are in the area where the old United Club used to be. To go to the FCL B you will have to clear transfer security but no passport control. Although Ireland and the UK are in the EU and therefore should be 'clean' FRA cannot cope with clean non-Schengen arrivals other than from the US.

How does this work? Where do they put security between adjacent or the same gate?

When you arrive you are immediately directed to the escalator taking you up to the arrival level. (If you check LH's flight status some arrival gates are marked, e.g. B28A for arrival.) In case of B pier you eventually come to the central transfer area where you either go through passport control (if your journey terminates in FRA or if you are connecting to a Schengen flight) or go through transfer security back into B departure area. After security you'll have to walk back to the departure gate but this time on the departure level.
