I arrived at Vdara tonight and have the Royal $150 resort credit (no ID/proof needed) - rep said it's only for Vdara properties but gonna give it a go over at Aria. In the past the credit was valid for all MGM properties but perhaps they've now amended the T&C's.

What would you recommend? Where shall I start looking?
All support much appreciated.
Welcome! First off, scroll back a couple of pages on this thread and look at the current offerings. Also check out mycheapvegas.com for hotel/show deals. You can plug in your dates while in LAS. Depends where you want to stay...on/off-strip, high-end/midrange, etc. Lots and lots of options on the strip. We'll need more info on your "tastes" to help.

Sterndogg, thanks for the warm welcome to this forum. I have checked many deals now. Best I found were the Mirage offers for around 100 USD plus resort credit, e.g. the birthday offer. I was hoping for some better deals on the strip. Casino Resort 4* up with some resort credit free cancellation. Also checked LMT but there is no free cancellation and prices not cheaper.

Also question: Will prices usually go down? Will there anything become available very cheap in the same week or the day before? It is the weekend after CES. Any idea what would happen to the prices usually?

Westgate Las Vegas $22

Found on 11/22 (might be more dates for this rate)

Booking page does not mention resort fee but likely comes on top.

Book on TA

Not really a deal. Westgate is always cheap. Even cheaper when using LMTClub. I booked it for $11 a couple of months ago.

I've stayed there a couple of times for $20-30 off of Hotel Tonight. Place is decent, excellent for the price, but resort fee is as high as anywhere at $28. You might want to upgrade to a renovated room for $10 at check-in.

I paid $15 per weekend night last month. Decent enough room. Resort fee is ridiculous (mine was $26 plus tax), does not even include the in room coffee. Fitness center is better than a year ago though.

I stayed there for one night a few months ago, resort fee was more than the room IIRC I paid like 22+28, something like that. In the end it still only added up to $52, but this resort fee thing is stupid, just give me the transparent price, $52 for a hotel room (that is actually fairly nice) is a great deal.

Also I've never been to Vegas before, but without a shuttle or any transportation cuz of how late I arrived the cab was at least $20. Top it off, I arrived at like 2am and found there was still a line of 10-15 people to check-in. Maybe these are normal things, but they were definitely drawbacks for me when thinking about ever going back to Vegas.

The hotel itself, totally fine. It was under construction, but nothing that bothered me, it just meant part of the lobby was a bit torn up. I didn't have a chance to use the amenities...but of course I paid for them argh but the room itself was big, clean, huge comfortable bed, bathroom was nice too. Location isn't great for the strip but it would be awesome if you're going to use the monorail or the convention center.

So many Vegas hotels have huge check-in/check-out lines at even the most absurd hours. Even higher-end properties can suffer from this just because they're so huge.

The taxis in Vegas are well-known to be a racket, and the introduction of Uber after months of legal battles over it is a welcome relief and should make getting around Vegas a lot cheaper.

You can usually get the Luxor for $30 plus resort fee, which is much nicer.

Shuttles are cheaper but can take much much longer and a line of 10-15 is not normal its usually 20-30 at all hours.

Personally I avoid Circus Circus like the plague as I'm not fond of children running around all the time. I'd take Westgate over Circus Circus any day.
